@brianmctaggart Terrible decision that Kingwas the 1st reliever yesterday. Hasn't anyone seen how poorly his done over the last month. Not deserving of a roster spot.
As of tomorrow, Jose Altuve will have played more postseason games than:

After the Longhorns' epic comeback to defeat Ohio State on Saturday night, ESPN's Football Power Index responded by... moving Ohio State to No. 1 ahead of Texas. 🤣
Since Sark didn’t want the loss to Ohio State to count against the Longhorns last season with the playoff committee, I fully expect him to, once again, appeal to the committee, and forego credit for this win.
For 5,000 years, one productive beef cow has been worth about one ounce of gold.
Mesopotamia. Rome. The Viking Age. The ratio held.
In 1926, a good cow cost $22. A $20 gold coin held 0.9675 ounces of gold. Almost exactly one ounce per cow.
Today, a young productive beef cow sells for $4,000 to $5,000 at auction. Gold sits around $4,500 an ounce.
The ratio has held for five millennia, and still holds today.
"In my opinion, the greatest game ever pitched was between the San Francisco Giants and Milwaukee Braves on July 2, 1963.
Forty-two-year-old Warren Spahn and 25-year-old Juan Marichal each went 16 innings and the game ended 1-0 on a home run by Willie Mays.
Each pitcher threw over 200 pitches.
Spahn threw 201 and Marichal 227.
There were seven future Hall of Fame players in that game, including Spahn and Marichal.
We will never see that again because the game won’t allow it.
But both guys were prepared to go as long as it took.
And this game was not a fluke, both pitchers won 20 games that season.
For Spahn, it was his 13th 20-win season and for Marichal, it was his first of 6.
My highest pitch count was 232 in a game against the Red Sox in 1974.
I pitched 12 innings, struck out 19, walked 10, and had a no decision.
My counter-part, Luis Tiant threw 180 pitches in 14 1/3 innings and took the loss 4-3.
We were on a 4-man rotation and pitched on 3 day’s rest.
I had 26 complete games in 1973 and 1974 and didn’t even lead the league.
Gaylord Perry had 29 in 1973 and Ferguson Jenkins had 29 in 1974."

I’ll fight this battle until it’s won: Texas A&M needs to honor Dat Nguyen by awarding the #9 to the LB captain before every season. Make it a tradition. 👍🏽
During one of the worst losing streaks of my career, our team president walked into my office.
Keli McGregor. One of the best men I've ever known.
He could have come to vent. To question my decisions. To ask hard questions.
Instead, he said: "Cut to the chase, Clint. What's next?"
I looked him in the eye and gave him two words: "Shower well."
The Colorado Rockies were struggling badly that year.
Pregame preparation was solid. Scout meetings, early work, attention to detail. All of it was there.
But at game time, the tires were flat.
I told Keli: the game did everything it could to us today. We just couldn't meet its demands.
Now it was time to reset.
"Shower well" means exactly this:
• Watch the frustration circle down the drain
• Shampoo, rinse, repeat and get the grime of today completely off your mind
• Walk out clean, go home, and actually rest
Leave it at the ballpark. The game is over. There's nothing left to solve tonight.
Keli nodded. Asked if he could share it with the whole organization.
I said sure. And then it hit me. This isn't just for baseball.
Bad day at the office. Grumpy boss. Missed deadline. Traffic on the way home.
You can carry all of that through your front door.
Or you can shower well.
I've never seen a single problem get better because someone dragged it home with them.
The reset is a discipline. Same as preparation. Same as showing up.
Either we win. Or we learn.
The only real loss? When you don't take a single thing out of a hard day.
So tonight, whatever kind of day it was, shower well.
Tomorrow is a new at-bat.
What does your reset look like? I'd love to hear it.
Nate Oats is the same person who played a player less than 24 hours after that player delivered a murder weapon to a crime scene, and never once addressed the incident until it came to light some time later.
Why are we acting surprised?..
