Read my article as published in the @StandardKenya Newspaper on why the African Union should spearhead search for solutions to current Africa's perma-crisis.

Men,
When life takes people away from you,
When your wife leaves,
When business fails,
Don't panic.
Don't fear emptiness.
Study the emptiness because that is where your transformation starts.

We have done a summary of the proposals that were rejected by MPs, why they were rejected, and the proposals that were passed.
Here is the deeper thread.
Save and share.
I was honored to accept my Human Rights Defender of the Year award today. Ahsante 🥹
It comes with $1,000 cash prize (Ksh129,000). I will donate it to a young journalist anywhere in Kenya who highlights issues in the community. Please nominate yourself or someone in the comments
Because Matatu operators are the ones who have called off the strike, Kenyans MUST REFUSE to pay hiked fares. Since they are the ones in dialogue with the government, they should not pass on the cost of their dialogue to innocent, underpaid and overtaxed Kenyans!
Between the boomers and millennials, there is a generation that is the cause of our problems.
Gen X.
Born between 1965 and 1980.
They are the parents of ZILLENIALS and Gen Z.
These are the people addicted to evangelical churches, classic FM and Facebook.
They still read newspapers and tune in to the BBC at 6PM.
They are rabidly tribal, worship permanent job employment, and so they forge academic and professional documents to ascend lucrative job groups.
They don't want to retire; they are career employees.
They are the most toxic managers at work with outdated ideas.
Their leadership style is holding daily office meetings, and since someone taught them about Zoom, they also hold virtual meetings even on holidays.
These meetings amount to nothing but them reminding employees about appraisal forms and reporting time.
They are extremely corrupt.
They bribe their way through opportunities. They dislike meritocracy and openly hate people who qualify through hard work and merit.
They sell ancestral land to disinherit their children yet their fathers bequeathed them free land.
At home, if it is a man, his wife has conquered him. She runs the house, and he is so scared to confront her.
If it is a woman, she is endlessly angry, chaotic and choleric, but so holier than thou on Sunday in church.
They teach their children bad manners because they want them to become rich overnight.
The Gen X are the root cause of our political, economic, and social collapse.
This is the "hear nothing, see nothing, do nothing" generation.
Docile generation!
The oldest member who was recently returned to the Uganda Parliament is ailing retired Brigadier Moses Ali (L), 87, who’s been in govt variously since the military rule of Idi Amin in the 1970s. The youngest is Lenia Charity Kevin .@Leniacharity, at just 24 (R).
In a continent ruled by very old men, Lenia at 24 is very young by African parliamentary standards, yet she is not the youngest ever. Several politicians who entered the national (not provincial) parliament younger than her.
Some notable examples:
•Proscovia Alengot Oromait — Uganda. Elected MP in 2012 at just 19, becoming Africa’s youngest MP at the time.
•Francisca Oteng-Mensah — Ghana. Elected to Parliament at 23, then became a deputy minister.
•John Paul Mwirigi — Kenya. Elected MP for Igembe South at 23 in 2017, then Kenya’s youngest elected MP.
•Emma Theofelus — Namibia. Entered Parliament and became deputy minister at 23; later rose to cabinet minister.
•Yusuf Cassim — South Africa. Became the youngest MP in South African national history at 24 in 2014.
When someone endlessly insults you, it is not you who is the problem.
It is him diverting bitterness from his miserable life.
He looks for anything that can accommodate his rants.
He wants you to be bitter with yourself, just like him.
Keep such people out of your life.
There is a reason why other races and continents continue to laugh at and mock Africa, and it is because we do not respect ourselves. Look at this incident in the video.
This is former Malawi president Pastor Lazarus Chakwera being tear-gassed by the police when he tried to lay a wreath at the mausoleum of Malawi’s founding leader, Dr Hastings Kamuzu Banda. It happened on Kamuzu Day in Malawi, a national commemoration held in honour of Kamuzu Banda.
Why can’t we be organised, civil and united instead of engaging in this barbaric behaviour where every little thing is turned into a political battle?
A country cannot build dignity, stability and progress when even moments meant to honour national history descend into chaos and hostility.
When I was in university, my roommate used to wake up every morning at 5am and leave the hostel dressed like she was going to class.
We all thought she had a rich uncle sponsoring her because she always had food, clean clothes, and never borrowed money.
One day I followed her out of curiosity.
Turns out she was working at a bakery before lectures started every morning. She hid it because she didn’t want people mocking her.
Fast forward to graduation day, while most of us were searching for jobs, she already had enough savings to open a small food spot.
Today she owns three restaurants.
That experience taught me something:
Never laugh at humble beginnings. Some people are sacrificing in silence while building the life everyone will admire later.
E-Citizen Fees To Double:
The cost of accessing government services is set for a major overhaul as the State moves to double the controversial e-Citizen convenience fee.

Your parents have been married for close to 30 years. You don’t see them as role models for marriage, but two social media couples who got married and divorced in less than two years are making you scared to get married. You see that you don’t have sense.
QATAR and UAE BLACK TAX,
If you work in Qatar, UAE or those Middle East countries,
SAVE YOUR MONEY.
Don't rely on relatives back home.
"Your younger brother is jobless, please, he needs 400K to buy a small car for Über."
Don't attempt to withdraw your money.
You will cry when you return.
Be selfish.
Otherwise, you will send them your money, they will misuse the money then when you return broke, they will mock you and gossip.
"We don't know what this loser did with his money."
"He wasted on alcohol and women."
"Why did he go there? What a waste!"
There is no age that is more terrible than 30 to 42. The terrible 30s they call them.
This age is full of urgency to do everything. You will feel like you are running out of time. It's this age your addictions really start to show. The bills are now heavier. Your parents are aging and some might need your help.
And while all this is going on you meet your friend with a new G-Wagon while you are shopping for gumboot meat in Rongai.
How do you get through them you ask? I would be lying if I said I know. You just wake up one morning and you feel okay. A good sign is when you start wearing clothes to cover your body, not to chase fashion. You buy a phone when it breaks and your idea of fun becomes a full night's sleep.
Hang in there, kids.
KRA has removed Nil Returns.
Now, people with no income can apply for a “PIN with No Obligation” and won’t need to file returns every year.
But once you start earning, you must update and file or face penalties.
Received a call from President Trump and had a useful exchange of views on the situation in West Asia. India supports de-escalation and restoration of peace at the earliest. Ensuring that the Strait of Hormuz remains open, secure and accessible is essential for the whole world. We agreed to stay in touch regarding efforts towards peace and stability.
