It is unclear what happened to the animatronics, but it is possible they were saved, as other Mickey Mouse Revue animatronics have shown up in events or other attractions
- Splash Mountain was based on the animated segments of Song of the South, not the live action ones that are usually subject to criticism
- If they wanted more TPatF stuff at the parks, they should’ve said they wanted a separate area for the Meet and Greet characters
Everything about this stupid retheme is so angering. This was an iconic and beloved ride that disney shut down for NO reason even after they knew that no one wanted it to close. TBA is a horrible, rushed, cheap, and boring replacement that was made ONLY so they could erase splash and pander to people who freaked out and overreacted to the dumbest things in 2020. Disney acted like they were doing the right thing, when they literally had ZERO problem promoting splash and making money off of the merch for years.
@BrerOswald What fans wouldn't do to own literally any single piece of their favorite ride like that...
It makes me sick to think they literally just demolished and/or threw everything away like it was nothing.
I hate this company so much
so so much
So many incredible artistic details destroyed for absolutely nothing besides darkness, plastic plants and screens
Genuinely disgusting, coming from a company that should be all about "art" and "creativity".
@gecko_389 If it was planned since 2018, the ride would be more than just empty dark caves with fake plants on the corpse of destroyed Splash Mountain sets.
@GEEWILLIKERS_28@noobstersubs Black Splash Mountain fan here. That song is extremely important to Black history. The man that sung it became the first African American man to ever win an Oscar.

Reminder that this page does not support the use of AI "art" whatsoever. Whether it be generated by a company or individual, it will never be real art. Several talented and passionate artists were involved in the creation of every Splash Mountain.
This is why Splash Mountain is far better than Bayou. Each animatronic was custom made from the ground up and each did something different to give the attraction a wide array of variety and larger degree of animation. Copying a bunch of a1000 animatronics everywhere is boring and repetitive when you have 1 axis critters as support.
The song would first premiere in the 1946 film "Song of the South"
The concept for the song was created by Walt Disney himself, despite false claims of it being based off of minstrel songs.

James Baskett would go on to become the first African American man to win an Oscar for his performance as Uncle Remus, with "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah" playing a huge part in this achievement

Several famous Black artists would perform the song, such as the Jackson 5 and Louis Armstrong. It became apparent that the song was one of Disney's most known, as it played during the opening of Disneyland in 1955.
