Excellent Dr and great to hear this. Just makes me sad that private hospitals in Scotland can still use the pelvic mesh that has injured many as they come under different regulations π
Excellent discussions today at the workshop on non-mesh surgery with Prof Haylen and Miss Asfour at @iugaoffice meeting in Singapore.
The kilt marks the 10-year anniversary of pausing pelvic mesh surgery in Scotland, the first country to do so at the time.

@waelagur@iugaoffice Was a wonderful day when pelvic mesh was paused here in Scotland. Glad you are having the discussions you have had in this meeting β€οΈ
Was sad to hear that pelvic mesh can still be used in private hospitals in Scotland as they come under a different rule.
My absolute hero & a little gift I made for him β€οΈ
Dr Veronikis, his team at Mercy & St Louis will always have a special place in my β€οΈ

@MeshCampaign@DailyMailUK Hear hear - this is both revolting and embarrassing in equal measure. I know this is one side of the story but anyone dealing with mesh complications will have heard this too often to doubt itβs validity.
@chrisharding123 Sad to read this, wishing you better health. As someone who lost the life I had due to mesh I am sorry to see someone like yourself go from this topic as was so impressed with your previous statement about never using mesh again. Best wishes & thank you for that amazing comment!
@MHRAgovuk By the replies you can see clearly that mandatory reporting by doctors is essential. Do the decent thing & regulate without loopholes, after all this is what you are there for. Make yourselves fit for purpose & stop lifes being ruined by your failures.
Health over profit for all!
@lsutherlandqc Completely agree, I have been told by my lawyer that my medical evidence from the world renowned Dr Veronikis might not be used as American standards higher than British π
I want to be able to look my daughters and nieces in the eye and tell them that if they should be so unlucky to have pelvic trauma after childbirth that they will be looked after. We have a duty of care to look after womens health!! #mesh#POP#maimed
this is excellent, @chrisharding123
such sensible opinion sends a message to the unreasonable calls for lifting the UK mesh suspension
Good chance common sense will prevail by - say - 2099β¦
with a bit of luck!
@RCObsGyn@BAUSurology@MeshCampaign
@SuziMarieP1@AnnBoni1@BAUSurology I will never place another strand of mesh in my career having seen the complications coming to our centre. If Iβm anything I am anti-mesh.
