Commercial companies rely on NOAA data too. With NOAA data small businesses can build value added services for users - improving reach &
use. Not that different than commercial broadcasters using NOAA data in their streams.

Job cuts at @NOAA and @NWS puts American lives’ at risk – full stop.

This latest round of cuts shrinks the entire workforce by 20%. There is no world where this doesn’t affect the NWS’ ability to provide accurate weather reports that are used by your local meteorologist and the weather app on your phone.

As the only meteorologist in Congress, I will fight back against any attempt to undermine the public servants at NOAA and the NWS.
