We had an insightful Internal Research Seminar on 29th May 2026, featuring Prof. Manu C, who presented his research titled “Real or Virtual? The Differential Effectiveness of Human and Virtual Influencers in Sustainability Communication.”
The study explored how human and virtual influencers, combined with different message framing strategies, shape consumer responses to sustainability communication. Through experimental evidence, the research highlights how source-message congruence influences psychological reactance, altruistic perceptions, engagement, and behavioral inspiration in prosocial campaigns.
A thought-provoking session that offered valuable insights into contemporary digital communication and sustainability research.

We successfully conducted our monthly Internal Research Seminar today, featuring an insightful presentation by Dr. Chinmaya Behera on the topic:
“Volatility Connectedness among Geopolitical Risk, Oil Price and Stock Returns in Advanced Countries”
The study explored the dynamic interlinkages between geopolitical risk, crude oil prices, and stock market returns across advanced economies using sophisticated econometric models such as DCC-GARCH and predictive modeling techniques.
The session highlighted key findings on volatility spillovers, market interconnectedness, and the differing responses of oil-exporting and oil-importing countries to global shocks. The discussion offered valuable implications for portfolio management, risk hedging, and policy formulation in increasingly volatile financial markets.

We had an insightful presentation by Dr. Aanchal Singh on: Investor Sentiments and Nature-Related Disclosures: A Cross-Country Event Study
The study explored how investors react to the voluntary adoption of TNFD (Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures) recommendations, focusing on the metals & mining sector across India, the US, the UK, and Brazil. Investors in developed nations responded positively, while those in developing nations showed contrasting reactions, offering critical implications for managers, researchers, and policymakers navigating the evolving landscape of sustainability disclosures.

Internal Research Seminar - July 📚
During our internal research seminar @GIM_Sanquelim , Prof. Karman Khanna ( @karmankhanna ) presented his prose-poem research, “Envisaging Objects as Desires: Reflections on My Rendezvous with Objectum Sexuals.”
Published in the Journal of Customer Behaviour (ABDC C), the piece weaves together ethnographic encounters with the objectum sexual community and personal reflections on material desire. It challenges conventional notions of objects as purely functional, instead inviting us to see them as carriers of emotion, belief, and cultural meaning.
A powerful reminder of how deeply our relationships with people and things are shaped by culture, affect, and imagination.
