Meryl Streep is a brilliant actress. That isn't the point.
C.S. Lewis wrote Aslan as Christ. Male. He. The Son of the Emperor-Over-the-Sea.
Netflix has chosen a woman to give voice to that explicitly male Christ figure.
This doesn't happen in a cultural vacuum. For years, Hollywood has been deliberately breaking the connection between biological sex, gender and identity, particularly in stories presented to children.
Male becomes female.
Female becomes male.
And eventually the audience is expected to pretend there are no differences. As if they weren't there.
Now that treatment has reached Aslan, one of the most recognizable representations of Jesus Christ in children's literature.
This is not “artistic vision.” This switch from male to female of a representation of Christ in literature is both disrespectful of C.S. Lewis' original work and and the man himself.
At what point does “inclusion” become the deliberate erasure of the source material, and a mockery of the Christian faith at its center?

“If I can’t have it, I want you to have it.”

Tammy Wynette said it on Dolly’s show in 1988 after admitting 9 to 5 had finally beaten Stand By Your Man. Then they sang the hits on two stools, no production, Dolly finding a harmony that should not sit that high.

Both of them are gone. The clip still sounds like nobody else was allowed in the room.

Born Jan. 19, 1946, in a dirt-poor, one-room East Tennessee cabin on Locust Ridge, Dolly Rebecca Parton was the fourth of 12 kids. Her father paid the doctor who delivered her with a simple sack of cornmeal.

She recorded her first single, “Puppy Love,” at age 13 and bolted for Nashville the very morning after graduating high school in 1964, packing her belongings in paper grocery bags.

Across her six-decade career, she penned over 3,000 songs, scored 25 country No. 1s, took home 11 Grammys, and snagged a 2022 induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Yet for all her plaques, theme parks (like her beloved Dollywood in Pigeon Forge), and Hollywood fame, Parton’s lasting legacy might have been her radical, unpretentious kindness.

Parton was preceded in death by her fiercely private husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, who passed in March 2025.

She leaves behind no direct children, but millions of devastated fans, and a country that had nothing but love for the backwoods Barbie with a heart of pure gold.

In 1988 Dolly Parton pulled every 7th and 8th grader in Sevier County into a room and told them to pick a buddy.

She made them sign a contract.. if BOTH graduate, she hands you both $500. One fails, nobody gets paid.

The county dropout rate went from 35% to 6%.

She handed out the checks herself.

In 1989 she offered $500 to every kid in the county who wanted to go to the local college.

When Gatlinburg burned in 2016, she sent 900 families $1,000 a month for six months.

You've probably heard that part.

Here's the part you haven't:

The fund raised more than expected, so she showed up in May and handed every one of those families another $5,000 on top.

Then she quietly put $3 million into the recovery group that handles the years after the news trucks leave.

She built her county an entire hospital.

She played a benefit concert in 2007, Dollywood and the Stampede matched it, and LeConte Medical Center opened in 2010 with a birthing unit and a women's center in it.

In 2022 she started covering 100% of tuition, books, and fees for Dollywood employees.

Full-time, part-time, AND seasonal.

In 1991 she paid for a bald eagle sanctuary because the birds couldn't be released back into the wild, no press release.

And when Hurricane Helene came through here in Western North Carolina, she wrote a personal check for $1 million and her companies matched it.

She didn't owe North Carolina anything, but she helped us anyway.

She started the Imagination Library because her daddy couldn't read or write. Before he passed, he told her it was the most important thing she ever did.

Rest in Peace, Dolly 🇺🇸

I asked AG Ken Paxton about how Texas SAVED a baby's life from an ILLEGAL California court order that would force her to get an abortion

His answer gave me chills...

"She came to Texas and we intervened in her case. They were trying to force her to leave and have an abortion. We stepped in and got a court order blocking her. Then we got a court order requiring that the baby be treated, life-saving treatment be done."

"So that baby had surgery yesterday, the first surgery of three on his heart. And as far as I know, it went well. So yeah, that baby is alive today because we stepped in and we said, this is not good."

"We're not gonna let this baby get taken away to be torn limb from limb after it's been chemically killed. We're not gonna let it happen. So I'm really grateful. Things like that, you really feel like you had, you're making a difference when you can actually save, you know whose life you've saved."
