@MarkDavidPearce @ukgolfguy @JeffCarnage £490 regular green fee for TOC and Castle combined. But if successful with your application for the deal shown, for £600 you know in October that you have a guaranteed tee time for the following year. So you can trip plan with certainty. Seems a pretty good deal by comparison.

@JeffCarnage @ukgolfguy @MarkDavidPearce Well, it is a guaranteed tee time, but also a lottery! Confusing! What I mean is the graphic shows the cost of a guaranteed tee time for a single in PATT (private advance tee time), but it's so oversubscribed SALT use a lottery to draw successful applicants.

@ukgolfguy What to do about the ballot these days, with it's daily over-subscription resulting in a low chance of success, is another discussion altogether!

@ukgolfguy Generally speaking singles don't get the same breaks as groups at St Andrews, whether it's ballot, PATT or advance booking one of the other SALT courses, so this move is in the right direction IMHO. As is anything that removes an all-night vigil with no guarantee of success

@ukgolfguy If SALT creates its own singles ballot then this makes my service redundant. Whilst disappointing for me, giving singles a ballot option puts them on equal footing with groups which is to be applauded. 2/3

@ukgolfguy Just FYI, I provide a service which connects singles so they can enter the ballot as a 2, 3 or 4. Through this, 75 golfers in 2023 got to play the Old Course via the ballot rather than having to queue at stupid o'clock, just for a chance of a slot.
