@CrossCountryUK The Reading train 6 minutes later is no use if you need to be in Oxford by 1.30. If I’d been told it was running from Durham I could have got there. But no info, just announced as cancelled at Newcastle
@CrossCountryUK The 8.35 Newcastle to Reading is cancelled again. Signalling failure allegedly. Which is weird as the train immediately after (8.41) has come from elsewhere and is fine. It’s almost criminal to advertise a train you cancel more often than you run.
Another @CrossCountryUK journey, another train with only 4 carriages and dozens of people crammed into the standing space. Obviously a deliberate policy, as this happens almost every time I travel with this shambles of a company. Guess I should just be happy it’s running.
@BBCSport Pogacar may be the greatest of all time in his sport and has just had the greatest season of all time. He’s an incredibly entertaining rider and charming. But not a contender for this? Ridiculous
@RocktheJointMag@DrChrisParry Those "on the streets" were violent, racist thugs. To pretend otherwise is utterly stupid. There's a debate to be had on immigration but those rioters (don't pretend they were protestors) weren't interested in it.
@DrChrisParry I knew there was a reason I was happier not being on Twitter. There is clear stupidity here, but it's yours. You (I assume deliberately) misrepresent what he says. And if you can't see that the riots were racist in nature then you really are as thick as you try to look.
Counterpoint: it was a stupid question, in fact it was a drab insult badly disguised as a question, the kind of smug, asinine, lazy crap you get from BBCQT audience members who are cosplaying Jeremy Paxman, and the responses it got were far better than it deserved.
@christopherhope It doesn't surprise me that you'd like this. Decent people, however, saw an arrogant git being deliberately rude to two people better than him.
New experience watching @SouthNorthCC 2s chasing 148 at @NewcCricketClub. One umpire and half the fielders have left the field to refresh their parking permits, in the middle of the innings. Isn’t that what drinks breaks are for?
