Do you know what Balde’s problem is?
He is essentially the same player who was given an opportunity by Koeman against Bayern five years ago, coming on for the final half hour at Camp Nou. Same strengths, same weaknesses, and that’s not even mentioning his injury issues.
During that same period, Fermín emerged, performed brilliantly, developed, and eventually became a big star.
Lamine Yamal and Cubarsí came through after him. They developed, became undisputed starters, established themselves as world-class talents, and went on to become global superstars, winning both the Euros and the World Cup with Spain.
Eric García reinvented himself and became a leader at Barcelona.
Gerrard Martín keeps improving every single day.
For me, a hard-working player who improves every day, every game and every season is more valuable than a talented player who doesn’t develop.
That’s why Balde leaving wouldn’t be sad news for me, and keeping him wouldn’t bother me either.
“It's a TOUGH question. He is a KEY player, but for ME it's important to see whether you have the CONVICTION and DESIRE to compete for your position. I monitor each player DAILY, how they train, how much effort they put in etc. It's important for the club.”
— Hansi Flick, when asked whether he counts on Alejandro Balde. 👀
@Pxxdressi Exactly, and these foolers are defending him. The reason Flick gives Martin chances because the guy has been working hardly every since he stepped foot in this club.
Mediocre and lazy players like him can fûck off from my club.
Saying Barça need to take the emotion out of their sporting decisions and then getting mad when they actually do that makes no sense to me. For years, one of Barça’s biggest problems was allowing emotion, loyalty and what a player had done in the past to influence decisions instead of simply asking, “What is best for the team right now?” But the second the club starts operating that way, suddenly it’s “How could they do this?” or “They need to show more respect.” So which one is it? Because you can’t demand that Barça stop being sentimental and then only be okay with it when it involves players you personally want gone. And criticizing a player or deciding it might be time to move on doesn’t automatically mean you’re disrespecting everything they’ve done for the club.
Every year Jason Statham puts out a movie where he plays Jason Statham... He seeks vengeance for some ill action that's none of his business and gets it. Every year I watch it knowing exactly what will happen.
Mutiny done and dusted. See you again next year with the exact same storyline 🤣
