A small reminder of life as a 'pre-digital revolution' designer still clinging to my steel rule after 34 years! Incredible how much has changed. #registrationmarks
Fabulous tour of the Pompeii exhibition with the brilliant Dr @DrPCRoberts Keeper of Antiquities and Curator of the exhibition @AshmoleanMuseum Thank you so much Paul - it was magnificent!
Freud spotting at @royalacademy Lucian Freud: The Self-portraits. As well as painting many self-portraits, Freud often depicted himself in his paintings of others. Can you spot him in these ones? #WheresFreud
Studying Lucian Freud's unfinished self-portrait @royalacademy and wondering who the abandoned initial sketch was of. I’m feeling better about reworking the under painting of my latest painting for the 4th time! #TormentedArtist
Regina died when she was only 30 and Barates commissioned this tombstone for her. The Latin inscription is followed by an Aramaic inscription reading 'Regina, freedwoman of Barates, alas'.
Totally mesmerized on my visit to Palmyra, so delighted to create this replica for @LatinNowERC. Regina's tombstone, found in South Shields, illustrates the multi-cultural contacts facilitated by Rome. She was the British slave of Barates from Palmyra, who freed and married her.
There's always that intense excitement when working with an amazing collection. IMAGINING THE DIVINE @AshmoleanMuseum presented some of the world's oldest religious art and was definitely one of those collections.
