Good morning. Many of you know that Bobby and I are heading to Pakistan from Dec 6th through Jan7 (approximately) to help the Lutheran Confession Church Pakistan in training in God's Word. We have been invited to serve by teaching Apologetics. We have been invited to seminaries
and also to the pentecostal and baptist churches in the country. However, our little band of apologists at Lutheran Girl Apologetics cannot afford this on our own so we are asking that you and your respective congregations prayerfully consider helping us with round-trip tickets
Officially earned my D.C.A. from the International Academy of Apologetics in Strasbourg after successfully defending my Thesis. Now on to the written and Oral exams to become a Fellow of the Academy.
@PeterEberly@Flame314 Of Family. Name. Security. Sustenance. Etc. We receive, in baptism the Name Christian, secure in the Family and faith nourished and sustained through Word and Sacraments. 3/3
@PeterEberly@Flame314 With regard to adult conversions they are gifted faith through the Word. That seed is planted and new life given. They are like an infant in vitro. Very much a child of God and through the waters of baptism luke the breaking of water at birth they now receive all privileges 2/3
@PeterEberly@Flame314 Much happens in Baptism. God's Name is placed on the individual, their sins forgiven, the Holy Spirit given, the gift of faith given and they are made part of the Family of God with all privileges granted.
God uses Means to deliver His salvation.
It doesn’t stop infection.
Or transmission.
Don’t think of it as a vaccine.
Think of it - at best - as a therapeutic with a limited window of efficacy and terrible side effect profile that must be dosed IN ADVANCE OF ILLNESS.
And we want to mandate it?
Insanity.
