On Maundy Thursday it is good to remember that Jesus gives a command & a mandate. The command is to love one another, John 13:34, but the Mandate, for which we get today’s name, is to wash each other’s feet, John 13:14.
Maundy (mandate) Thursday demonstrated Jesus love command!
@ManagerTactical Gio to @Wrexham_AFC seriously! Under a fierce manager like Parky could be great for Gio and the US and wrex . @VancityReynolds make it happen loan to buy after 4th promo
@christopheryuan You are right, I don't really see a difference. How do we read the context of Matthew 18? (honest question). Is "false" teaching not causing someone to stumble? Is false teaching not sin? I think I'm missing why we should push for public & private sin. How should we respond?
@PrestonSprinkle@christopheryuan First off, publicly I’m a nobody on here. And I tried to dm you privately. So here is what I hope is a humble comment, knowing others watch us to see how we love.
@christopheryuan Push away👍 I appreciate it. Jn 3:2 & Lk 7:36, 11:37, 14:1. While not strictly private, it was not "all public" temple courts. re-David, the king had sex w/ Uriah's wife, one of his 30. Brought Uriah from the front, got him drunk & sent back to kill him. That is not private sin
@christopheryuan I still argue Matthew 18 talks about false teaching based on context, Jesus rebuked the pharisees in private before public. And if we take David seriously in Psalm 51:4 then we don't sin against anyone but God, so then what do we do with mt 18?
@christopheryuan I have found the distinctions you are trying to highlight helpful. We can be sloppy in talking about attraction. However, I read Sprinkle’s book, “Does the bible support same sex marriage?” repeatedly and he is not intentionally deceptive or treacherous.
All this feels like click bate platform building veiled in an attempt to care about right teaching. For all who claim Jesus, go to the person privately. We need to refute public teaching publicly, how much better to correct privately and allow them to repent/clarify publicly
‘True evangelical faith...becomes all things to all people.’
Anabaptists understood the importance of contextualizing the gospel. How can we share the love of Christ in a way that speaks to our culture today?

@Ameen_HGA@NoelSully11@smashbaals and @ the AS - have fun with Matthew 12:1 "At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. His disciples were hungry and began to pick some heads of grain and eat them." - like who owns those fields?
#5 ‘True evangelical faith...seeks those who are lost.’
Meno Simons reminds us that faith compels us to seek the lost, not just to wait for them to find us.
Who is God calling you to seek today?
