Serious abuses are ongoing in Ethiopia's Tigray region, according to a harrowing new UN report.
As the risk of further atrocities in Ethiopia grows, continued international scrutiny over the situation is essential.
.@TeklehaymanotG writes the ICHREE report is a good start but its findings only tip of the iceberg. He says the commission was constrained by design, and therefore its mandate should be extended and more access given for it to produce a meaningful report.

Tens of thousands of #Tigray continue to be held captive in #WesternTigray by #ENDF, #Eritrean, and #FANO forces subjected to abuse according to escaped #IDP testimony to aid workers. Without #ICHREE their fate may be sealed.
Transitional justice for #TigrayGenocide victims to be delivered by the very genocide perpetrator is an absurdity. But its architects also know what it is: a step for the total abandonment of justice. They found it hard to say "forget justice, the genocide will continue".

Soldiers from Eritrea have committed war crimes and possible crimes against humanity in Ethiopia's Tigray region, according to a new report by Amnesty International. The report details extrajudicial killings, rape, sexual slavery, and pillaging by Eritrean troops.
The atrocities occurred after a ceasefire agreement was signed in November 2022.
Amnesty called for renewed investigations into these violations and for justice for the victims.
Despite the signing of a peace agreement in 2022, atrocities against civilians in #Tigray continued. Our new report covers abuses committed by Eritrean forces.
We are calling on states to #RenewICHREE. Now is not the time to reduce scrutiny of Ethiopia. https://t.co/AUtcV3eeas

I heard this guy has been asked Asylum in US. As they love Ethiopia, they attempt to eradicate thier own fellow, but flee from Ethiopia once they got any opportunity.
Amhara ultranationalists instigated war in Ethiopia, prosecuted it with brutal and deadly vigour.
A few months ago they were singing "No More TPLF"
Now they are singing "No more Abiy"
In this in-depth article, weaving together evidence from history, archeology, language and geography, Negasi shows that Western Tigray and outlying areas up to Metema have almost always been home of Tigrayan polities and people.

Tigrayans in areas free from Eritrean & Amhara forces are conducting mass grieving for the massacred, now that they have a small window to do so.
These are from Tahtai Adiabo for 33 Tigrayans massacred in November 2, 2022 by Amhara forces.

Tigray Orthodox Church appoints bishops for the Tigrayan diaspora in Europe, USA, Australia and Canada. The Tigray Church separated itself from the church based in Addis after the later and its clergy endorsed and participated in #TigrayGenocide.

The orthodox church based in Addis trivializes the Tigray Orthodox churches separation from it as an issue of salary. The statement read by archbishop Petros who is an active supporter of the war on Tigray didn't mention its involvement in the genocide.
