BREAKING: KADUNA SHUTS DOWN AS NON-INDIGENE SUPPORT GROUP DECLARES SUPPORT FOR UBA SANI’S 2027 RE-ELECTION!
Business activities in parts of the Kaduna metropolis temporarily ground to a halt on Saturday as thousands of residents, traders and members of non-indigene communities turned out in full force to declare their support for Governor Uba Sani ahead of 2027!
From Sheikh Gumi Market to Ahmadu Bello Way and Sabon Tasha, representatives of various non-indigene groups, including Igbo, Yoruba, South-South, Nupe and Idoma coalitions, gathered to endorse the Governor for a second term.
Why the massive endorsement?
Leaders of the various residents’ associations pointed to key improvements in the state over the past few years:
✅ Inclusivity & Unity: A government that listens and gives every resident a sense of belonging, regardless of tribe or religion.
✅ Business-Friendly Environment: Reduced harsh enforcement and double taxation, alongside policies that help small businesses thrive.
✅ Infrastructure & Peace: Ongoing urban projects and continuous efforts to maintain peace and security across commercial hubs.
Traders locked their shops, tricycles waved banners and major roads filled with supporters chanting slogans of unity and progress!
Government officials warmly received the delegation, reassuring the community that the administration remains committed to serving ALL residents of Kaduna State.
“Our Kaduna Peace Model is simple; it is about justice, inclusivity and bringing everyone to the table…
Kaduna is the most diverse and cosmopolitan state in Nigeria; but since 29th May 2023, I made it clear to everyone (especially those in my cabinet),

Today, I had the honour of serving as Special Guest of Honour at the Special Interfaith Dialogue organised by the Kaduna State Bureau of Interfaith at the Abba Kyari Banquet Hall, Kaduna State Government House. The theme, “An Overview of the Impactful Three (3) Years of Peaceful Co-Existence and Inclusivity in Kaduna State; Unveiling the Secret,” provided a platform to reflect on our progress and deepen engagement with religious and traditional leaders.
I was encouraged by their unanimous commendation of our administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, peace and development. Their renewed pledge of partnership reinforces our shared determination to make Kaduna a beacon of peaceful coexistence, shared prosperity and good governance, and a preferred destination for investment. I deeply appreciate their honest and constructive counsel and the patient work through which they continue to strengthen understanding across our communities.
I emphasised that Kaduna has now moved beyond the recurrent ethnoreligious crises that once overshadowed our collective promise. Indeed, Kaduna State has not experienced any form of ethno-religious crisis in the last three (3) and half years, a significant achievement duly acknowledged by our religious leaders and community stakeholders at the dialogue. We are also addressing the neglect that left some communities feeling excluded from development. Across our 23 Local Government Areas, our investments in roads, healthcare, education, agriculture, skills and essential infrastructure are guided by need and the conviction that every citizen deserves opportunity, irrespective of faith, ethnicity or location.
Lasting peace requires justice, trust and the assurance that government serves everyone fairly. Development gives that assurance practical meaning when families can access essential services, pursue livelihoods and look to the future with confidence. Our progress must therefore be measured by both the stability of our communities and the dignity of the lives within them.
We will continue working with religious and traditional institutions and all stakeholders to consolidate these gains and address unfinished work. Together, we must build a Kaduna where belonging is secure, opportunity is accessible and our diversity strengthens our common future.

UNDER UBA SANI, KADUNA TOPS 2026 TRANSPARENCY INDEX
Kaduna State has emerged as Nigeria’s highest-ranked state in the 2026 Transparency and Integrity Index, scoring 54.68%; the highest score among all 36 states.
The ranking by the Centre for Fiscal Transparency and Public Integrity (CeFTPI) reflects the impact of Governor Uba Sani’s people-centred leadership and commitment to transparent, accountable and responsive governance. His administration’s focus on openness, responsible management of public resources, citizen engagement and inclusive development continues to strengthen trust between government and the people.
The index assessed states across five key areas: fiscal transparency, open procurement, human resources and inclusion, control of corruption, and citizens’ engagement. Kaduna’s score placed it ahead of Osun (50.54%) and Kwara (48.19%), with only three states recording scores of 45% or higher.
Kaduna’s leading position further highlights the administration’s efforts to build a government where transparency, accountability and service to the people remain central to governance.

NIGERIA AT 66: THE NATION WE OWE OUR CHILDREN
As we commemorate our great nation’s 66th Independence Anniversary, I join all Nigerians, particularly my dearly beloved people of Kaduna State, in gratitude to Almighty God for the gift of nationhood and the grace that has sustained our journey. This anniversary invites us to honour our founding fathers, whose courage transformed the yearning for freedom into the sovereign nation we proudly call our own. Their enduring legacy entrusts every generation with the responsibility to make independence meaningful in the lives of our people.
Nigeria stands as the world’s most populous black nation, a source of African pride and a beacon of possibility. Our cultural richness, human ingenuity and extraordinary resilience have sustained our promise through difficult seasons. Under the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, our shared responsibility is to translate that promise into prosperity that reaches every household and opportunities that expand every child’s horizons. I am proud of Mr. President’s courageous leadership and steadfast commitment to this national endeavour.
Peace and stability are indispensable to the fulfilment of our aspirations. A farmer must be able to cultivate his land, a trader open her shop and a child attend school without fear. My administration in Kaduna State, working closely with the Federal Government under President Tinubu’s leadership, remains committed to strengthening security, improving public safety and creating an environment in which our people can live, work and pursue their legitimate aspirations with confidence.
To the people of Kaduna State, I reaffirm an abiding conviction: our diversity is our strength, and our shared humanity must guide our relationships. The dignity we seek for ourselves must extend to our neighbours. Let us reject prejudices that weaken our bonds and resist attempts to turn our differences into instruments of division. Through mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and collective determination, we will build a stronger Kaduna State and a more prosperous Nigeria.
The patriotism of our founding fathers calls us to sacrifice and accountability. Citizens must discharge their civic responsibilities, just as leaders must honour the trust placed in them. Sacrifice acquires moral force when leadership shares its demands and ensures that its rewards improve the lives of the people. Our love of country must find expression in the integrity of our conduct and the care we show one another.
This year, we celebrated 27 years of uninterrupted democratic rule. We thank Almighty God for this achievement while acknowledging our responsibility to deepen its substance. Democracy fulfils its purpose when citizens are heard, institutions inspire confidence and public service safeguards human dignity. Its enduring value must be evident in the security, opportunity and wellbeing it delivers.
To every public official, I offer this solemn reminder: we shall ultimately account for our stewardship before Almighty God. Let wisdom guide our decisions, integrity govern our conduct and compassion shape our priorities. The authority entrusted to us obliges us to serve faithfully, protect public resources and leave our communities better than we found them.
A new, albeit far better, Nigeria is achievable. Through our work in Kaduna State and the Renewed Hope Agenda nationally, we remain resolute in building a country worthy of our heroes’ sacrifices and our children’s trust. Let us pray for its peace, labour for its prosperity and strengthen the bonds that sustain our common destiny.
I wish the good people of Kaduna State and all Nigerians a happy 66th Independence Anniversary. May Almighty God protect our nation, bless our people and strengthen our resolve to build the Nigeria we owe our children.
