Today’s Supreme Court decision effectively guts a key pillar of the Voting Rights Act, freeing state legislatures to gerrymander legislative districts to systematically dilute and weaken the voting power of racial minorities - so long as they do it under the guise of “partisanship” rather than explicit “racial bias.” And it serves as just one more example of how a majority of the current Court seems intent on abandoning its vital role in ensuring equal participation in our democracy and protecting the rights of minority groups against majority overreach.
The good news is that such setbacks can be overcome. But that will only happen if citizens across the country who cherish our democratic ideals continue to mobilize and vote in record numbers - not just in the upcoming midterms or in high profile races, but in every election and every level.

Things got chippy at ASU practice Thursday. Kenny Dillingham says conflict is necessary to bring a team closer together:
“Relationships aren’t built through roses and candy canes. They’re built through conflict. There has to be arguments, competitive juices vs. each other that you have to make up even though you hated that dude for 30 seconds. That is what a good team is.”

French President Macron on Iran:
Six months ago, we were told everything had been destroyed and settled. Clearly, that was not the case.
Without international inspectors verifying materials, research, and hidden sites, it is simply not serious.
There will always be expertise and potentially hidden facilities unless there is lasting oversight.
A few weeks of military strikes cannot resolve the nuclear issue in the long term.
Without a diplomatic and technical agreement, the situation could deteriorate again in months or years.
The same logic applies to ballistic capabilities — they must be monitored through negotiation.
