Consul General @MahavirSinghvii addressed an interactive business networking Seminar hosted by the @IndoCanadaCC with a visiting delegation from the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (@FieoHq) and leading members of the Canadian business community.
He highlighted the growing momentum in India-Canada economic relations following the recent visit of Hon’ble Commerce & Industry Minister Shri @PiyushGoyal, and discussed the transformative potential of a future CEPA in expanding trade, investment, innovation, and supply-chain partnerships.
He also emphasized the strong complementarities between the two economies across critical minerals, clean energy, AI, technology, advanced manufacturing, agriculture, infrastructure, and digital innovation and encouraged businesses to move beyond traditional buyer-seller relationships towards joint ventures, technology partnerships, and integrated value chains.
The opportunities are immense, the momentum is positive, and the business case is compelling. India and Canada are well-positioned to build a stronger, future-oriented economic partnership driven by businesses, innovation, and people-to-people ties.

Consul General @MahavirSinghvii delivered the keynote address at the event hosted by the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce (ICCC) to celebrate the International Women’s Day.
He highlighted the vital role of women in strengthening India-Canada relations and emphasized the need to equip them with skills in AI, digital technologies, the green economy, and finance, while promoting greater representation in STEM and leadership. He also highlighted the Consulate’s One Stop Centre for Women (OSCW) and other initiatives supporting Indian women in need in Canada.

Dr. Ranjeet Mehta, CEO & Secretary General,PHDCCI thanked Hon’ble Minister Nina Tangri for the meeting and apprised her of the proactive role being played by PHDCCI in strengthening international trade and industry partnerships. He also highlighted PHDCCI’s keen interest in enhancing engagement with Canada and exploring new avenues for business cooperation. He also the support of the Hon’ble Minister for the upcoming PHDCCI Business Delegation to Canada from 22 to 28 March 2026.
Hon’ble Ms. Nina Tangri, Associate Minister of Small Business, Government of Ontario, warmly welcomed Dr. Mehta. She appreciated the Chamber’s efforts in promoting industry linkages and strengthening economic ties between India and Canada. She also assured her full support to PHDCCI for future endeavours and collaborative opportunities. She further highlighted the strong potential for expanding partnerships between businesses from Ontario and India across diverse sectors.

ASSOCHAM and the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce (ICCC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen business cooperation and deepen industry engagement between India and Canada.
The MoU establishes a structured framework to promote trade, investment, technology collaboration, and business partnerships, while facilitating the exchange of trade information, industry delegations, and joint initiatives that support members from both organisations.
Signed in New Delhi on 9 March 2026, the agreement marks an important step toward expanding bilateral business opportunities and strengthening the economic partnership between the two countries.
