@fawfulfan The things you cite are actually why this location might make a lot of sense if you use it to cross the Potomac (way cheaper than a bridge) and get to Georgetown & up the hill to Glover Park which are both dense & traffic choked but lacking transit as this would be way cheaper.

A woman was shot and killed and the suspected gunman was fatally shot by Metropolitan Police Department officers Tuesday morning in Northwest Washington DC.

According to DC Police Chief Jeffery Carroll, officers responded around 7:11 a.m. to reports of a shooting in the 3500 block of Wisconsin Avenue NW. When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound.

DC Fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene and attempted lifesaving measures, but the woman was pronounced dead.

Police identified the victim as 44-year-old Melissa Wallace-Pulliam of Northwest Washington.

Investigators said officers learned the suspect had boarded a Metro bus immediately after the shooting. Officers stopped the bus near Wisconsin Avenue and Upton Street NW and confronted the suspect.

According to MPD, the suspect displayed a handgun during the encounter, prompting officers to fire their service weapons. The suspect was shot and later pronounced dead on scene.

The suspect has been identified as 44-year-old Shawn Dewayne Williams of Southeast Washington DC.

Police recovered a handgun with an extended mag from the suspect at the scene. DC Police’s Internal Affairs Bureau is investigating the use-of-force incident. Fortunately, no officers were injured. #DCCrime

A woman was fatally shot at a bus stop in the 3600 block of Wisconsin Avenue NW. The suspect made his getaway attempt by a Metrobus, but that bus was stopped in the 4000 block of Wisconsin Avenue. When police attempted to detain him, he reached for a gun and was shot dead by MPD.
