This award means so much because it recognises not just an organisation, but a journey - the early mornings, long queues, difficult seasons, tired volunteers, stretched staff, hopeful families, young people finding confidence, mothers feeling less alone, and communities rebuilding trust, dignity and belonging.
Since 2020, Touch of Love has grown from a small grassroots response into a Black-led community charity supporting families across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire through food support, warm meals, parent and toddler support, youth work, family support, women’s wellbeing, service navigation, culture, community integration and belonging.
For many New Scots, migrants and minority ethnic families, the challenge is not only hardship - it is knowing where to go, who to trust, and how to access support. Touch of Love has become a trusted bridge, helping families navigate complex systems, connect with services and feel less alone.
Our work is whole-family support. A parent may first come for food, a toddler may join early years, an older child may find confidence through Young Achievers, and the family may be supported into wider services
In 2025/26 alone, we supported 10,000+ people, shared 30,000+ food parcels and served 25,000+ warm meals.
Since 2020, we have now shared over 150,000 food parcels - but behind every number is a name, a family, a story, and a moment where dignity mattered.
This is a collective win.
To our staff, volunteers, trustees, families, young people, partners, funders and supporters - thank you. Touch of Love is not one person. It is all of us.
To our funders, this award also belongs to you.
Every grant, partnership and belief in our grassroots work has helped turn compassion into practical support, confidence, culture, dignity and belonging.
We warmly congratulate all the winners, finalists and nominees at The Black Scottish Awards 2026. It was powerful to be in a room filled with Black excellence, leadership, creativity, resilience and impact across Scotland.
Thank you to The Black Scottish Awards for celebrating the brilliance, contribution and leadership of Black communities in Scotland.
We receive this award with deep gratitude and renewed commitment.
We will keep serving.
We will keep building.
We will keep helping families navigate, connect and belong.
With love, always. ❤️

There was already so much excitement among our young people and families, but having @BBCCiN Pudsey joining us brought even more fun to the day.
The children were delighted to see Pudsey, and we soon discovered they weren’t the only ones! There were plenty of adult Pudsey fans too.
All along the parade, people were waving, cheering, smiling and coming over to say hello. Pudsey certainly made a lot of new friends and admirers along the way.
A big thank you to @BBCCiN for making it possible for Pudsey to join Touch of Love for the parade. It made an already special day even more memorable for our children and families.
We are also very grateful for the support @BBCCiN continues to give to our work throughout the year.
Their funding supports our 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫, who helps keep our Mum, Baby and Toddler sessions running smoothly - giving our little ones a safe and welcoming place to play, interact with other children and develop their early communication and social skills.
So it was lovely having Pudsey right there with us on Saturday - lots of fun on the day, but also a reminder of the support happening quietly throughout the year for our babies, toddlers and mums.
Thank you, @BBCCiN , and thank you to everyone who waved, cheered and shared the excitement with us along the Celebrate Aberdeen parade route.
