Great image. There are some noticeable errors, but minor compared to how good the image is. The reflection of the glowing sign in the water feature extends onto the floor of the convention center in a way that doesn’t feel natural. Also, the top book on the stack in the bottom left-hand corner (Art in Review) is missing its binding and looks like the title is positioned the wrong way.

And that’s really nitpicking. It’s a fantastic image—super impressive.

@ggreenwald You miss the point that the only reason that they miss Bush is because he had more in common with democrats than republicans. Some republicans are really democrats. No democrats are really republicans. Once you understand that, it makes sense.

I didn’t miss a thing. I have zero confidence that this “abundant” society that is constantly preached on X will come about from any technological advancements in AI, robotics, science and technology writ large. Those things may advance but human nature will not. Can/will technology continue to improve people’s lives - sure. Will it lead to an abundant Utopia where no one works and everyone is essentially abundantly rich - No - and if it does, there will be social overlords who maintain the distribution of “abundant” goods.

“There are no slaves or bread lines” and “money will no longer matter” - the only thing stating that more clearly is an ad for socialism. Do you really think that the government and/or elite companies and world economies are ever going to allow so much power and capability to amass in the hands of every citizen? That is the great lie of every socialist cause. It culminates in ultimate government control, no private property, shared but “equal” resources. If you really think that the outcome that you describe is how this plays out, I have a bridge in the desert to sell you.

Nope, pretty sure that there are still limited resources and at the end of the day we end up with some form of socialism and that’s never worked out in the history of mankind. I’m open-minded but this utopia won’t exist like it keeps being portrayed. If everybody’s rich, then nobody’s rich - it’s an absurdity.

Taxation and tax incentives are a small part of the problem. The greater problem is supply. Federal, state, and local government regulations have made it expensive to build a house. How many permits and unnecessary building materials are required because the government said so? Building a house used to be simple. Now there must be “X” outlets, “X” brackets, specific dimensions for features, etc. It’s gone beyond basic health and safety. Regulations and permitting make it onerous for home builders to add supply, which would help lower prices.
