@delightfulrepas @cumbriaoldrural Yes sadly it seems all 7 cygnets have died in the last week or so. Pretty awful. Not heard any confirmation it's bird flu,but it's a likelihood. Saw both parents today and they look okay so 🤞

FLUFFINESS ALERT!

Seven new cygnets at Hammond's Pond! Filmed on Wednesday. Wonderful to see and the parents seem to be doing a grand job again. Mr Coot comes into shot to the right on an intercept path to defend his nest nearby!

Nice to see new life on the water at Hammond’s Pond in Carlisle. Cygnets being taught how to catch their own pond weed and sticking together to avoid being blown off course.

Also saw my first damselfly of the year and spotted the beautiful new swan family. ❤️
