https://t.co/oLA1I3xiyM Supreme Court should consider banning all foreign breed dogs in India which will give a chance to Indie dogs to find a home and get them off the street. That may be a more effective solution than building shelters! @PrakashWKamatPK@SCofIndia@GoaHumaneTrust@SachiRupaliK@MissionRabies@pfaindia
A leading animal rescuer with shelter,Goa says, " I think this is quite disturbing. The Championship Cat Show in Panjim scheduled on 14th dec 2025. A breeders paradise, while there are more than 20,000 desi cats suffering on the streets of Goa, not to mention the hundreds of kittens that die every month .
Another NGO in Goa, which works for cats and his says:: Sadly nothing can be done. The main body responsible for the organization and regulation of cat shows in India is the Feline Club of India (FCI) @FelineClubIndia, which is the country's only active cat registry dedicated to the improvement of cat fancy in India. The FCI runs numerous regional clubs and conducts various events, including:
Cat Shows: These events showcase different cat breeds and help promote high breeding standards and healthy competition.
Conventions: Informative seminars on feline health, nutrition, diseases, and breed orientation are held across the country.
Registration Drives: The FCI is actively involved in the registration of cats and the issuance of breed authentication and ownership certificates, a key step in ancestral tracking.
To participate in an FCI-organized cat show, owners are typically required to register their cat with the organization. The FCI is affiliated with international bodies like the World Cat Federation (@wcf_ev) and The International Cat Association (@TICAcats), ensuring shows adhere to global standards.
The legality of all animal-related events falls under the purview of the Animal Welfare Board of India (@animalwelfareb1), which is the statutory advisory body on animal welfare laws in the country.
.....
Now my question to AWBI, when you allow such brazen breeders Paradize Cat shows, don't you have any commitment towards lakhs of Indi(Desi)-cats suffering on the streets of India, not to mention the hundreds of kittens that die every month? When such hyped Cat shows of breed cats are allowed in this country who will stand up and care for Desi cats? Is it not your responsibility? You will only wake up to this issue when some people go to the Supreme Court and another order comes?
Or you also believe that while this money game is on by breeders, the State governments only are accountable to look after , subsidised facilities for Desi cats?
Please wake up to the plight of Desi cats and stop allowing such exclusive breed cats shows....In our country, the masses are not aware, they fall for such hyped glamour shows. Demonstration effect guides actions of the masses. You have a role here as a regulator!!!

@PrakashWKamatPK@KadambaLimited Completely mindless and illegal exercise. Have they moved dogs to designated shelters? If not, then dogs inside can't be starved. Where did SC order say that dogs are to be starved without moving to designated shelters! Brilliance of our bureaucracy is on full display in Goa!
Has @KadambaLimited began the exercise of assessing the number of dogs on its bus stand.
Has the Supreme Court order directed to stop feeding existing dogs from bus stands till they are picked for sterilisation and vaccination to be kept them after that in a designated shelter?
Has it checked out and assessed the needed fencing of the bus stand to ensure once it starts evicting dogs for vaccination and sterilisation new dogs do not enter its premises? Has it sought the help of Goa government appointed nodal officers to check and keep ready designated Shelter for its dogs?

Have they opted for this humiliating birth of a stray dog where they are dependent for food, water on humans? And this is how we will treat them only because they have no voice? Do we deserve to claim ourselves a civil society??
Salute to all those feeders and care givers who are doing the thankless job of feeding them, sterilize and vaccinated them often at their own cost, give them a hand of empathy and love, 💘💕😘

Massive protests break out in Goa's different parts over recent Supreme Court order which has agitated animal lovers in general and outraged dog feeders in particular after some government departments, school managements started issuing arbitrary orders and notices asking for no feeding dogs, removal of dogs from premises in a panic response without realising that Goa has not a single designated shelter for dogs as directed by the SC order, to put them after they are removed, sterilised and vaccinated. Also no thought being given to the provision in Supreme Court order to fence such premises so new dogs do not replace.
The Goa Animal Federation(GAF) has expressed apprehension that if dogs are not fed and removed from educational and other institutions without shelter homes, such hungry dogs would flood the streets and it could trigger a dangerous. @DOE_GOA@GoaHumaneTrust@Manekagandhibjp@EgnaCleetus@Coll_SouthGoa@Coll_NorthGoa@Varsha270819@SachiRupaliK@DexterBraganza@AnushkaAjgaonk1@DessaiMadh85036@AbigailDeSouz11@Loveuanimal@AlphaAngel35013@joedelhi@RajatSharmaLive@TheViditsharma
Spontaneous protests break out in different parts of Goa at local level.
Youth in Goa stand for community dogs.
GAF says, the Supreme Court order needs to be implemented in specific institutions as provided in the order by following Supreme Court's directives like designated shelters for keeping dogs after they are removed, sterilised and vaccinated. These institutions must be fenced to ensure no new dogs come in to trigger a similar situation in the future.
Has the @DOE_GOA@Goa_edu ensured this before asking the school managements, who have started issuing arbitrary internal instructions to remove dogs, not to feed dogs??
Have the schools ,with the help of Government designated nodal officers assessed the number of dogs, searched for shelter homes, has the govt allocated money for shelter homes and fencing of institutions to be ready before the eight week deadline given by the Honourable Supreme Court?
Or simply the institutions are putting the cart before the horse in their panic response and inviting and triggering protests from animal lovers and feeders at local levels....
GAF pleads with the government of @DrPramodPSawant@goacm@NilkantHalarnk1 follow the Supreme Court order in letter and spirit.🙏
