If the USA Women’s Hockey team wants a real celebration and invite ,,, I’ll host them in Las Vegas. Do some nice dinners and shows and good times. I’m sure I can get a hotel and airline to help me out here and celebrate these women for real for real.
This week, after I collected my son from his dad’s house, he took an electronic notepad out of his school bag and told me his father had told him to write a daily log of his activities in my home.
A typical way in which abusers continue to exert control post-separation is to use children as messengers to ‘gather data’ and report back to them.
My ex-husband framed the demand for daily logs as helping our child “build structure” and “self-discipline,” while improving his writing abilities.
Coercive control often sounds rational and reasonable, because it’s designed to.
When I said our child would not be documenting our home life for him, his tone switched instantly from staged friendliness to intimidation, claiming he would use my boundary in court to claim I am obstructing our child’s progress.
Abusers commonly escalate after separation by trying to gather evidence, craft narratives, and engineer situations that are designed to make the protective parent look unreasonable, unstable, or obstructive.
They also use their child to deliver messages, monitor the other home, or carry emotional and logistical weight they should never have to carry.
Later, they relabel their behaviour as ‘healthy co-parenting’ or care for their child’s interests, masking the sinister intent behind it.
When an abuser can no longer control you directly, they use their children to try to control the narrative instead.

@SoVeryBritish Yes! Not to be a brat but my 11 took great pride in making me "breakfast in bed" as a birthday "treat" this weekend. I'm not a monster so made a great effort to be enthused while at the same time itching about crumbs and general mess!
If you think about it, it’s obvious who should be the next PM. It should be someone with experience in diplomacy, someone who commands near-universal admiration, someone who’s humble, and someone who truly loves Britain and sees the best in us.
Has to be the Japanese Ambassador.
