studying nemos🐠 & their stinging anemone homes as a postdoc: @NemTitus @UofAlabama @disealab but still love gobies| scicomm:🎤🎙️ @gradscicomm |#EDI she/her
📢New Paper: Some gobies are able to switch their coral hosts after consecutive cyclones and heatwaves, but others perish. Gobies cannot keep up with coral recovery.

We modeled this framework with coral gobies (genus Gobiodon).
Used both local and global ecological factors (eg: habitat size, location, climatic disturbances).
Outlook for gobies: high loss of sociality due to climatic disturbances (cyclones, heatwaves) & likely ⬇️⬇️ survival
With 4 categories of social variation (large-scale to fine-scale) you can determine what influences societies of your taxa of interest. You can combine all four categories to get an outlook of social maintenance based on ecological and social context tested. Very exciting!

@MiguelDMahecha@EnvDataScience The amount of reminders put out by a journal to review a paper are why I often decline. Journal email me at EOB Friday to ask for review, and I come to work Monday with two emails already, one from Friday and one from Sunday. That’s harassment level for me.
@JoeyBernhardt@FishBaseProject@NEON_sci I quite like iNaturalist for biodiversity datasets, you can make a project that pools specific taxa in specific locations automatically for you. Plus it gives them a good look into citizen science research as well.
It’s National Postdoc Appreciation Week!
Advancing #research is a huge team effort and my fellow #postdoc researchers help me in so many ways!
Keep rocking

Help please! I can't find #videosoftware for windows that will show the source timestamp (actual timestamp recorded in camera itself) instead of just the length of time of video itself. I've posted on #stackoverflow but no response. #timestamp#video https://t.co/QRC3H4CQSz
