Saved by grace through faith in Christ; husband/dad/grandpa; lawyer; grateful ex-alcoholic; competition BBQ judge; history buff. Life happens; pray often.
@JenniferEValent I don’t understand their motive for such insincere, fawning prattle, but I’ll give them a little credit for their faithful commitment to it.
@VP Regardless of political affiliation, everyone should be happy for your mother and for everyone who is succeeding in long-term recovery. (And everyone should pray and do everything possible for the addicts who still suffer.)
An independent clergy is as important as an independent judiciary and independent press for the health of democracy. The founders knew this. It's amazing how American evangelicals do not. — Ben Marsh
@JenniferEValent “Groceries” is “such an old fashioned term.” 🤣
Wonder how long it’s been since he was in a store that had aisles, shelves, cashiers, and sold food. Ever?
He’s one of those people others often suspect might be ignorant, then he opens his mouth and removes any doubt.
@JenniferEValent Being a gang member isn't a crime, if that's what he was trying to imply. Living here legally under protected status. Story is just a convenient lie for Vance to tell. In any case, SCOTUS long ago said aliens are certainly entitled to due process rights in deportation cases.
@Protestia That isn't ELCA-based teaching, by any stretch; it's a confused pastor giving a very bad exposition of a rather straightforward passage of Scripture. Bless his heart.
@JenniferEValent Trumpworld is a real-life version of Thackeray’s “Vanity Fair.” A troubling and pathetic story without any hero. The worst of human traits and frailties abound and everyone seems to be clamoring for what is not worth having.
@JenniferEValent I wonder whether Trump taught her the art of huckstering, or vice versa. Whatever the case, thank goodness for this Passover/Easter sale. No one should have to pay full retail mark-up for God's free blessings and mercy. 🤡
@PressSec Don’t you feel any responsibility to verify the veracity of allegations before claiming that they are true? Blind allegiance to liars who rely on gaslighting to cover their own deception and failures is a terrible personal and professional choice that you’ll come to regret
@RonieJM @Richard89220241 @PressSec Please explain why you believe there’s a general asylum requirement that one must first apply in the country closest to one’s home country. Thanks.
@LetsDiscuss2024 I haven’t blocked you or prevented any replies, which should be evident from the fact that you replied to me. Calling people names, however, is neither a winning argument nor a good strategy. Do better or don’t bother.
@tedcruz "Small, petty, vindictive, evil bastard."
That's richly hypocritical coming from the guy who used his political celebrity status as a bully platform to urge a boycott of Nike.
@Cernovich The relevant question is: Is what that president is having people do unlawful? If so, judges have a sworn obligation to apply the laws and the Constitution to stop the unlawful actions.
