"The composition of this panel, bringing together a former member of the ex-FAR, General (Rtd) Ibingira from the RPA/RPF, and a former member of the FDLR, and what they have shared, reflects just how complex, diverse, and layered our history is. It is from that history that we should draw the lessons to move our country forward, in the way we want and through our own efforts.
Let me say this: a great deal of what has been said on this panel has been valuable, and the discussions around it have only reinforced those lessons. One thing I wanted to pick up on is what Ibingira mentioned about those ungrateful people who insult and disparage others.
My advice is simple: do not waste your energy fighting those who insult you. Put your energy into building, building yourselves, and building your country, so that insults and the people who make them become insignificant and have no impact on you. Ignore them, and keep doing what you are supposed to do. That is what matters.
Your response should be your actions. Eventually, those who thrive on insults grow tired and stay hostages of history." President Kagame | Unity Club Meeting.

“The memorial before us is powerful, because it sets the truth in stone and protects it from the heartlessness of time, by instructing the living. It is not a validation, because none is needed. But it will stand as a mark of respect for the dignity of Rwandans and our history.” President Kagame | Inauguration of Monument in Paris honouring the victims of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi.

“These pressures, that we get from the rest of the world, Africa is being reminded to wake up. So the pressures are not entirely bad, they force Africa to look within for what we have. To actually do what we need to do to find a good place for us in this world of those injustices and other challenges.
I want people to know that each one of the people in this room and beyond, have something to contribute and to benefit from, benefit each other, and the continent has a lot that is not being put to good use and it is up to us - it is not people from anywhere else, to be able to raise ourselves to that level where we should be.” President Kagame | Opening Ceremony of the Africa CEO Forum 2026 #ACF2026
“Many promises have been made to Africa, which have never materialized into anything tangible. Is this unfair? Yes. But ultimately, as Africans, we must take responsibility before anyone else. No world leader, no matter how big the country, is going to save our continent from itself. Conversations like these should remind us that through collaboration, we can overcome all the obstacles ahead of us.” President Kagame addressing a plenary with African and French CEOs on Green Industrialisation and Energy Transition.
This afternoon on the sidelines of the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, President Kagame met with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) President Álvaro Lario.
A FEW MOMENTS LATER...
QUESTION:

Thank you to my sister President @SuluhuSamia for the warm welcome to Tanzania and for the productive discussions.
Rwanda and Tanzania are not only neighbors but brotherly countries bound by history and a shared goal of prosperity for our people. Rwanda remains committed to building on this strong foundation by deepening our bilateral cooperation across trade, investment, infrastructure, logistics, energy, and regional integration.
I look forward to continuing our collaboration to achieve tangible results for our citizens and advance the East African Community.
