IMPORTANT CENSORSHIP NEWS:
This situation shines a light on what I've been talking about for years now. Anime is indeed getting censored at the production stages by the Production Committee. They are now listening to people unable to separate fiction from reality that screech on Social Media.
The Anime Production Committee had to issue a official statement regarding "Mii-chan and Yamada-san" after its recent anime adaptation announcement caused outrage online thanks to its darker themes
Here's their Statement:
"the announcement of the anime adaptation, various concerns and opinions have been expressed regarding the work's content and its adaptation into a visual medium. As the production committee, we sincerely take these concerns to heart."
"This work is not created with the intention of discriminating against or disparaging individuals with specific disabilities or in particular circumstances."
"While respecting the themes and message of the original work, we will proceed carefully with production, consulting experts and including appropriate age ratings and content warnings so as not to encourage prejudice or misunderstanding."
Worth noting in the manga release even in Japanese there was apparently content warnings about it themes.
Its actually crazy they even decided to adapt this despite the current Pro-censorship heavy climate we are in.
However its worrisome that they even made this statement because it means the Production Committee are acknowledging the psychos unable to separate fiction from reality.
Blue Archive fans have done such a remarkable job gatekeeping those who attempt to invade and change the series from the outside.
The real question is how Blue Archive fans protect it from threats on the inside, those who snuck in?
