Dating someone with a child and marrying someone with a child are two completely different things.

Once you decide to marry someone with a child then you take on the responsibility of a parent. You cannot complain about this arrangement because you simply could’ve avoided it altogether.

The stepchild is your responsibility now because you signed up for this. If the child’s father is not in the picture then you have to make sure that both kids are equally taken care of. If the father is present then he will step up and ensure that his child is taken to a school of his choice.

Failing to manage this dynamic will just harbour resentment between the children.

Leave single parents alone if you’re not ready to handle those situations—you have a choice.
