I honestly feel like the more of a break the consumer has, the more likely they’re to buy a sequel, but I have no way to prove that. I’m FFVIIR’s case, we’re getting the entire game within 7 years (which is kinda crazy tbh considering game development nowadays) and that’s solely because the entire team is staying on to develop.

You’re arguing something completely different. Final fantasy is held to a higher standard than persona. It’s bigger than persona. That much is a fact. That’s his argument. Despite which one you prefer or not that is a fact. If FF was all of a sudden downgrading their graphics to that of personas, there would be a riot. People criticizing final fantasy so much because they expect more from the franchise.
