I completed my very first UIUX project🎉
An online cake ordering app for a specific brand.
It took me 2 weeks and 4 days to complete it.
#uiuxdesign#productdesign
This year do this 5 things
1. Niche down
Find what you’re very good at and stick to it, still generalize low key, for instance, many people know me as a product designer but I’m also a brand designer, framer developer and sometimes I draw
2. Study daily to advance that skill and secure the certificate as well
I used to think certificates were not important but it is, still study for the knowledge not the certificate
3. Be consistent like a beggar
Show up like craxxy, be a busy body
4. Learn a new skill or start a business as side hustle
Don’t depend fully on tech, do something else, sell properties for people, push people’s brands, start a fish farm, sell something, do any legal thing
5. Connect, connect, connect
Many of your future opportunities would come from recommendations of people that find you ONLINE (when you show up and have mutual connections)
6. Go in search of jobs
Don’t wait for jobs to find you
- Do a pitch to a company you wish to work for
- Create a solution for their business
- Email that founder with substance not just your CV and portfolio
- Write to employees in organizations where you wish to work in and connect with them (In my previous role, we had a platform where we post jobs and only employees knew about it)
These are not guarantees that you’d land any opportunity this year but may help you land a good one in the future.
Remember to work on yourself and always ask yourself this question “Would I hire me?”
Discover your loopholes and work on it
To be sure of the right things to focus on while studying, go to Google jobs and search for your niche then check for the REQUIREMENTS to land that role.
Those are the major things to focus on in your career.
I wish you Gods blessings.
