.@GovParsonMO, please do not let Missouri execute
@innocence@the_MIP client #MarcellusWilliams, an innocent person — where there is overwhelming evidence that his trial was constitutionally unfair — on 9/24. https://t.co/fG7eMfvxeu
@RutgersAltRoute One peer mentioned that Ss may not be comfortable reporting HIB. I liked the idea of Ss leading the antiHIB but also providing nonverbal ways for Ss to report HIB in class is something I need to consider. #TeacherEd#SafeSchools
@martinez_eri23@RutgersAltRoute I completely agree. Seeing HIB as a form of disempowerment (misguided use of power) and help them to see how they can tap into power that helps them and their environment evolve in positive, productive ways! #TeacherEd#SafeSchools
@RutgersAltRoute A5: Motivational interviewing & ABA. Reflecting on behavior, goal/reward. Then, reflect on your life/person they want to be. Partner families to identify supports/behaviors needed to achieve positive outcome #TeacherEd#SafeSchools
@RutgersAltRoute A4: Challenge & Learning Opp- It's important to handle HIB in a fair way that allows students to feel protected in class. I can't let anything go unresolved but set the model that HIB is not tolerated and devolves our character #TeacherEd#SafeSchools
@RutgersAltRoute A3: I often inform colleagues and parents of conflict I see between two students. Warn and strategize with colleagues who will work with the students to maintain safety for both. Partner with parents to create safety #TeacherEd#SafeSchoolssafe
@RutgersAltRoute Q2: Prioritizing respect and making every students' voice valid in how the classroom is set up (over time, when they get to know each other). For instance, students tell me who can and can not sit together. Inform admin of conflict #TeacherEd#SafeSchools
@Martinez_EdTech @RutgersAltRoute I love the idea of promoting empathy, which creates a strong community. We are obligated to one another in both positive and negative interactions. #TeacherEd#SafeSchools
@RutgersAltRoute Q1: Establishing classroom rules that creates equal expectations of all not to invade others' space, not use negative speech to express oneself and establishing restorative practices. #TeacherEd#SafeSchools
@RutgersAltRoute I like the idea of having a weekly newsletter to parents. I can create a template and distribute it at the start of the week to parents at pickup, create a GroupMe or other chat platforms and ask admin for Class Dojo #TeacherEd#EdTech
@edensenn@RutgersAltRoute I agree. I currently have a 60+ year-old colleague who introduces technology to me from teacher chat groups she's in. She shared https://t.co/z6d6C8unSE with us, which has been a life changer! #TeacherEd#EdTech
@RutgersAltRoute A5: I often have challenges differentiating in class when I have such a broad spectrum of learning needs. I often want to have teaching stations or a flipped classroom. How can I do this to address all learning needs? #TeacherEd#EdTech
@thomasgordon_@RutgersAltRoute I like the idea of the weekly newsletter. How involved is this - a one-pager? Do you offer it translated in other languages? Is there a need for that, given your school's demographics? #TeacherEd#EdTech
@RutgersAltRoute A4: Inviting parents in Google Classroom to see what we're doing and to check on their child's progress. Also, establishing tri-weekly Zoom parent conferences, lesson demonstration for parents to help their kids at home #TeacherEd#EdTech
