On Sunday from 1-4pm, attend this fun Tiny Home Takeout event in downtown Kitchener at St. Mary’s Church. They provide the food that Going Mobile KW delivers to people experiencing homelessness. Please support if you can.
There's never been a single death at an overdose prevention site. But at OPS' funded by the Ontario government, 7,444 deaths have been prevented. The evidence for sites is overwhelming and clear, but we'd rather forfeit lives to suit unfounded beliefs. https://t.co/CzGrtrFBSw
A deadly decision by @FordNation
This announcement was made at #AMO2024 who have called for a more collaborative approach, stating that consumption sites save lives.
"Supervised consumption sites are an important component of Ontario's harm reduction approach" @AMOPolicy
Cities and towns from across Ontario are struggling with the housing crisis.
Here at #AMO2024 municipalities are telling me about the crisis of homelessness in their region.
We need to do more to curb the rampant renovictions that are forcing people onto the streets.

This is bad policy. The Kitchener SCS has been well received since its opening. Many lives have been saved. This policy will push people into the darkness, when they at least had a chance for something better.

Due to a shortage of volunteers we can’t sustain our regular food delivery schedule - our last day is Mar 29. We are sad, but find comfort since more support exists now than 4 yrs ago. We will deliver food & supplies occasionally. Our partnerships & socials continue.
Attended St Mark’s open house today. Indwell has done a great job. Wonderful seeing people getting housed! Check out videos below showing both an accessible and regular room. #endhomelessness
