A decade-long dream of mine just came true. I finally got the honor to meet sir @RichardDawkins and thank him in-person. He is the most inspiring person in my life. No one has had, or likely ever will have, a more significant impact on my worldview.
🚨 WATCH: The Islamic Republic's official State TV is now openly broadcasting simulations of a nuclear attack.
When a terrorist regime shows you exactly what they intend to do, BELIEVE THEM. Are we still pretending we can negotiate with these terrorists?
It is time to eliminate this global threat once and for all before it's too late.
The world needs to see this. ☢️
I have long written and spoken about the many ways US immigration policy harms international students and scholars. This has been true for as long as I can remember, including when I first came to the US on a single-entry student visa more than 20 years ago under a process formerly known as muslim registry program.
But the current administration has gone much further, through arbitrary policy changes, travel bans, and broad visa processing pauses that leave folks unable to work, travel, or train.
These policies affect a minority of scientists, and in the current state of the world they can be easy to overlook. But we should not let that happen.
I wrote about the quiet loss of Iranian scientific talent in US labs for @TheScientistLLC:

We must help liberate the Iranian people, and we can do it. We can do it without our troops on the ground. Without a forever war. We can do it. Train them. Arm them. Support them. And we will never have to worry about nuclear arms from the Iranian regime ever again. Not only that, but the Middle East will also change for the better in ways that we cannot even imagine. The regime must be destroyed. The time is now.
How can the US be the place where “anyone” from “anywhere” can achieve “anything” if @USCIS is impeding everything on thousands of Iranians in the US? The very people who @SecRubio says are the most different from the government in their country, are being discriminated against by the “circumstances of their of birth”!
