@TheMedalCount_ Gelya might have surpassed Mustafina in some ways, and she’s a great gymnast, but imo she will NEVER live up to the grace, poise and aura Aliya Mustafina had. She was truly a special gymnast!
Just let them both keep their bronze medal and acknowledge that this is an unprecedented situation caused by FIG's own failings and the gymnasts should not be penalized for it
If we’re just relying upon multiple video feeds as evidence, it effectively means the WTC had no system in place whatsoever to actually track time accurately.
This is a resigning matter. This is gross negligence.
There is no way they are taking away Jordan Chiles' bronze medal. There's no way. It was awarded to her at the ceremony, the competition was over, it's been 5 days. I've never seen anything like this. You've got to be kidding me.
taking a medal from an innocent athlete is the most fucked up thing. I am fully in support of giving another medal, but this decision is harmful and wrong and anyone who thinks otherwise does not see these athletes as people.
the amount of people who feel bad for Ana because she thought she won a medal for a minute but don’t feel bad for Jordan that she thought she won a medal for days is actually so disappointing
@TrickyWooo33 @MahlerAdam@joe_walker I don’t know… as I said, I read it on a thread here. I haven’t checked up on it, so it might not be entirely true. Either way, this happened due to lack of safety, and it could have been avoided. That’s criminal enough
@MahlerAdam@joe_walker Apparently there weren’t many… only volunteers. I read on a thread here that the people on the paddle boards were also volunteers. I don’t know if there were any specific requirements for them, or any training. That alone is absurd and unacceptable
