Having grown my Zerodha account 5x in last 19 months since I started systematic intraday options trading, felt I am eligible enough to share my principles around below topics that helped me scale up.
A thread on my style of position sizing, compounding and handling drawdown π
@Ankit_Quant Much depends on the game being played
In my low freq indicator based entry/exit system with 5s execution latency many a times I get big +ve slippage (actual executed price vs backtest data executed price) thereby nullifying to a good extent the usual -ve slippage in other orders
@quatltd Happy to read how the thread ended.
Very important that he continues to follow the good dietary practices (like reduced sugar intake) that has helped him thus far.
Wishing your father good health and sustained recovery π
@chethan_kumar_a Nope, there isn't any content from me on the coding side of things. I'm not a great coder. So not good enough to provide good content.
I've heard people say below ones are good.

I get many queries on how to learn automated trading.
Step 1: Learn trading.
Step 2: Learn automation
Resources for Step 2:
1. @f2003062 YouTube series. https://t.co/3lzLODfuMs
2. Mayank Rasu Udemy course https://t.co/jKWjgjpHgz
Heard good reviews on these.

Cheers to all full-time traders out there π
@ShankarMan11180 Focus on entering a high paying prison.
Use payroll prison salary savings to fund & experiment running your business (automated trading?) venture.
Be frugal. Save big. Use savings to build something which makes delayed gratification worth it.
@dashingrahul7 Yes, it will be tough. Possible
Been through ~1 year of no return recently. Coincidentally investments appreciated during that window, which may not happen next time
2-3 years underperformance wouldn't affect my lifestyle
Beyond that maybe I don't deserve to be fulltime trader
I believe there is a short time window (ongoing) where me & loved ones would have all of health, time & money.
I'm thankful I can afford the fullness of this TIME bcos my trading is automated.
11 trips with mom, wife in 2 years - timewise affordable only bcos of being FT trader
After deep diving into the price action in 2025-26, I'm pivoting my 0DTE short option s/m to one that benefits from a different kind of price action.
One that I believe will be more robust to price action regime shifts. And does better margin management.
System 5 starts Jun'26.
Forces me towards the drawing board to fix this flaw.
Also, after trading same 0DTE short option system from Jul'23 till now I feel it is time for some modification - in search of better margin utiilization with same funda. Have to evaluate whether any modification is worth it.
