@dasno_@therealsol4ra@gabefollower though if some statements come to light as true that there actually are 'some' cases of Valve genuinely getting irritated at companies for not offering the same game on steam at the same prices (EG R6S's lighter version), then could be bad depending on how bought out the judge is
@sterasmas@alkalinebro1@rhodes_mzra you posted a study about how people >$150k were persuaded by their peers, I gave an argument that this persuasion probably isn't exclusively about affluence, using foreigners to highlight this.
you responded by calling me "silly"
@sterasmas@alkalinebro1@rhodes_mzra Are you sure it's talking about me? Whatever the case those who want to make change aren't guaranteed change, but depending upon what you're willing to give or take, change can be made any number of ways. It can be persuasion, aggression or capital, legal or not. Etc
@sterasmas@alkalinebro1@rhodes_mzra Great, becoming chairman is a class change according to some variation of pop polsci. Nice lol. You're digging at a point where nothing was said like as if you have a victory to make out of it.
Are you here for the truth, or are you here to "win" out of some kind of ego trip?
@sterasmas@alkalinebro1@rhodes_mzra I didn't offer a rebuttal, because I don't have one. It's not an argument from me, it's just apathy toward the premise. Sure it's logically consistent with your offered definition, but we're basically saying the exact same thing with minor differences in definitions and semantics
@sterasmas@alkalinebro1@rhodes_mzra Has nothing to do with idealism, but simply just the fact that people will work toward the things that fit best toward the things they feel reflect them best. Could be their output, could be their input.
@sterasmas@alkalinebro1@rhodes_mzra So are we going off of the common definition of class, or your pet theory? We already have 'interest groups' which are used to reflect 'people affiliated by interests', so idk, it's up to you to talk how you please. As long as it's defined
@sterasmas@alkalinebro1@rhodes_mzra it's an example to the point that the deciding factor isn't whether you're elite, but instead of deeper core values which have to do with the aspects which define that which someone believes to reflect themselves upon the world.
@sterasmas@alkalinebro1@rhodes_mzra I think that it's just one study, and one perspective regarding it. If you could rewrite the world with a bar graph, would you?
@sterasmas@alkalinebro1@rhodes_mzra I have the conception that class as a concept is flawed, and no amount of mental gymnastics to try and force the idea to work will change it
@sterasmas@alkalinebro1@rhodes_mzra This entire conclusion of yours is obliterated by the fact interests will still function and compete regardless of money/property
The church won't disappear despite marxism, and people who want to change things won't stop cooperating to persuade the commune to make them chairman
@sterasmas@alkalinebro1@rhodes_mzra sure there is superficial trends between culture, but there is also an allegiance between ethnicity and religion. A corporation is filled with workers who are ultimately working for their family or passtimes. When the company puts that at risk, they will abandon it.
@sterasmas@alkalinebro1@rhodes_mzra your study only talks about impact on policy. If you think hierarchy is natural (that some groups are simply more effective than others because their constituents are literally just more efficient), then "elites" (people who make more than $150k a year lol) are inevitable
@sterasmas@alkalinebro1@rhodes_mzra it's not about class, because the outcome doesn't have to be about money. It could be about spreading religion, or 'spreading the virtue/popularity of chess', or just sport or competition. regardless it remains about power & influence, because it is needed to achieve the outcome
@sterasmas@alkalinebro1@rhodes_mzra The form of their benefit is by whatever format that benefits them best. It could be a commune, but it could also be a syndicate, or a corporation. Etc. The wealth is the means to the end for their goal, not the goal itself. Otherwise the entire group will cannibalize for greed
@sterasmas@alkalinebro1@rhodes_mzra I think class is a useless abstraction that does not reflect the actual forces that push for change in society. There is zero allegiance between landowners and affluence, but there is between outcomes. Society is more akin to a mass of competing mafias than it is "class"
@sterasmas@alkalinebro1@rhodes_mzra None of this has anything to do with 'securing the means of production', but it certainly has to do with securing power over the population.
Thus, your petty commune will not be able to resist interest groups persuading your constituents without secret police.
@sterasmas@alkalinebro1@rhodes_mzra An interest group is given meaning by humans who simply cooperate to the ends of their goal. Like a chess club, or some religious or tribal cause. Whether you're a land owner or wealthy or not, people stand to benefit based on skill and cooperation, not based on arbitrary wealth
