Exactly, and what bothers me most is that "the guy" telling everyone to have cash, never take on debt, etc. usually has freaking $200M in assets and is a liquidity machine. Like, have you ever though that for the guy who has $10k saved up and is not the best with money, that may not be the best fit? You're basically saying that sir, unfortunately, you're unable to even consider having a car, and you'll live on the streets because rent is stupid, but a mortgage is worse. So the path ahead is finding the best bridge you can to live under, ride your bike, and take showers in the YMCA forever

I also believe in you. The start of the post was a lighthearted joke, but the advice that followed is one i've always used since i started working. I'm a bit older than you, 29, but just keep going man, effort, dedication, dilligence are a big part of it, and it seems like you have it. You just need to find an opportunity, and embrace it as hard as you can, whatever it may be

Actually, yes. That's how us non-technical peasants do it. It inverts the relationship a bit. You build a clear step that should do X, and put in place the necessary structure to make sure it, deteministicaly, always does X with tests, and actual evidence of it doing so, every time. You don't read the code, but you've built it for a specific purpose, in a well defined moment. You just have to be extremely paranoid with the possibility it might not actually do what you inteded or randomly break at some point. It's like skating without protection because you're a pro, or having every corner of your body protected because you just know you'll fall at some point
