I asked the next Governor of Iowa how we keep young people from leaving the Midwest.
His answer was incredible:
Zach Lahn: “Here’s what I look at—how are we using the government of Iowa to promote the wellbeing of the people of Iowa and put programs in place so they stay here?
-Give high school graduates an income tax abatement for with money going into an account to help with the down payment on your first home.
-Put programs in place to prevent hospitals from closing and keep the doctors that are getting trained at University of Iowa, Drake and DMU in state.
-Give tax incentives to Iowa’s homegrown businesses instead of global companies.
-Start treating family farms as entrepreneurial activities.
-Allow family farms to serve public schools.
We should be rewarding the people, not massive companies.
Spot on, @ZachLahn
Grateful.
Grateful for every mile traveled, every hand shaken, every prayer offered, and every person who believed in this campaign.
While the result wasn’t what we hoped for, our love for Iowa remains unchanged. Congratulations to Zach Lahn on earning the Republican nomination. We are thankful for the opportunity to serve and look forward to supporting the continued fight for Iowa’s future.
Thank you, Iowa.

@OpenSourceZone Keep in mind that this was an extremely low turnout for Republicans!!!! this will not be the same result in November!!!! Zach for the win!!!
I want to thank my opponents.

Thank you for running great campaigns and being dedicated to the people of Iowa. I look forward to working with you and your teams to win in November.
IOWA FIRST
@EricLDaugh Vote Adam Steen!! Randy hasn’t showed up to ANYTHING!!! he is not for Iowa at all, and every Republican here knows it! He refuses to debate because he can’t! He has no plan to better the state in any way shape or form. He has no plan for cancer rates. Property taxes.
FEENSTRA vs. STEEN: Two Visions for Iowa 🧵
With the primary fast approaching, the differences between the leading Republican candidates in Iowa are becoming impossible to ignore. On key conservative issues, the contrast in policy positions and leadership approach is clear.
ISSUE #1: EDUCATION
I’m a strong supporter of skilled trades.
Walking around the Build My Future event, I saw a generation that’s hardworking, determined, and ready to carry these trades forward.
