I’ve seen people say, “Gold will hit 6000 by March” or “Gold will drop to 3800 in May or June.” The problem is that if you’re not careful, these opinions can slowly get into your head and affect how you see the market. Before you know it, you’re no longer reading the chart for what it is. You’re looking for reasons to support someone else’s prediction, and that often leads to overlooking your own analysis and making worse decisions than you normally would.
The truth is nobody knows exactly where price will be next month. We can all have opinions and expectations, but the market will do whatever it wants to do.
To be honest, I’ve also stopped worrying about where price might be in three months, six months, or by the end of the year. The more I focused on those big predictions, the more distracted I became from what was actually happening on the chart today.
What I’ve found is that the more I focus on trading the way I trade, following my own analysis, and following my own rules, the better my results and mindset become. Trading feels more peaceful. I spend less time staring at charts. I second-guess myself less. I don’t feel the need to constantly look for the next prediction or opinion.
For me, having an outlook is far more useful than trying to guess where price will eventually reach. An outlook simply says, “If price does this, then this becomes more likely.” It keeps you flexible and focused on what the market is actually showing. Guessing future prices often creates attachment to an idea, while an outlook allows you to adapt as new information appears.
Some traders like holding positions for days. Some are happy taking 1:1. Others prefer 3RR or higher. Some scalp, some swing trade. None of these are wrong if they suit the person trading them.
Stop comparing your style to someone else’s. Follow your analysis. Follow your strategy. Follow your risk management. Follow the plan that you’ve tested and understand.
Learn from others if you want, but don’t let other people’s predictions become your trading plan. The more opinions you listen to, the harder it becomes to hear your own.
Focus on your charts, your rules, and your execution. Consistency comes from following what works for you, not from chasing what works for somebody else.
One of the biggest differences between a struggling trader and a growing trader is humility.
Losing traders often believe they already have all the answers. They spend more time proving they are right than understanding why they are wrong. They defend bad trades, ignore feedback, and look for reasons to justify their decisions instead of learning from them.
The market does not care how much you know. It only rewards those who stay open-minded enough to adapt.
The strongest traders are usually the ones asking questions, reviewing mistakes, and accepting that there is always something new to learn. They understand that every loss, every missed trade, and every mistake carries a lesson if they are willing to listen.
The moment you think you know everything is often the moment your growth stops.
Stay curious. Stay teachable. Stay humble.
The market is one of the greatest teachers in the world, but only for those willing to learn.
A closed mind protects the ego. An open mind builds the trader.
One thing that has always inspired me about @the_westender and @traderjulesk is their attitude.
We have been friends for a while, and no matter what life throws at them, they keep going. I’ve seen difficult times, setbacks, frustrations, and moments where many people would probably have given up, but they never do.
They just keep putting one foot in front of the other and keep moving forward.
I think sometimes people look at success and only see the end result. What they don’t see is the amount of times someone wanted to quit but didn’t.
That’s what I admire most.
No matter how many difficulties we face in life, we have to keep going and not give up. Success isn’t about having a perfect journey. It’s about staying in the game long enough to get there.
@the_westender and @traderjulesk are a great example of that ❤️ and worthy learn something from them ♥️
