In early 2020, a young athlete @FerdiOmanyala invited us to his small crib, tucked somewhere he’d rather I not mention (we still laugh about it to this day 😂). At the time, he’d been banned from competition. Two years out. No one was picking his calls. No job. No spikes. Just hope.

We decided to tell his story. Filmed him. Then presented the footage to my then boss who took it straight to Sports CS @AMB_A_Mohammed. She stood firm: “If he’s served his time, he must be allowed to run the 2020 Olympic trials. Let us judge on trials day.” (In photo- his 1st day in camp)🥹

He did. He made the team to Tokyo.

The rest, you know. 2X Olympian. 2022 Commonwealth Games Gold. Africa’s fastest man. A dreamer who never stopped backing himself. And again, thank you @TuskerLager for being part of that journey.
