The difference 24hrs make. Yesterday, it was snorkel and flippers today we're out setting the course up ready for play. All 18 holes open, there's still standing water in areas, but on the whole it's drained well considering the amount of rainfall we had.
Following this mornings course inspection, the course will be closed today and quite possibly some time too. We will keep you all updated as and when we reopen.
The difference a dry week can make to the course. We've managed to get everything cut this week, and it's looking great just in time for the captain's drive-in tomorrow. Really proud of the lads and their efforts this week.
I honestly don't believe I've ever seen the golf course looking so good at the start of February. The final bits of clearing have taken place this week along the Brook, and with the drying weather conditions, mowers have been out mowing before the grass got any longer.
Unfortunately, following a course inspection this morning, we will be ending the year closed. Last nights rain has made the course unplayable, which is very disappointing
Walking around this morning checking the ropes were in place, I've noticed people are now not adhering to them. They're there for a reason. You can see it's to protect the wet areas and stop damage like what's been caused by people not following the diversion 🤬
Winter work has started!!! This winter are aim is to renew the sand on the drains in the bunkers and put a fresh new edge on them. Here's the 9th we've completed today. It's a long-winded job, but the end results are worth it.
10 days on for winter maintenance, we're seeing lots of seed germination and a good recovery. The greens have received a cut this morning ready for the captain's charity day
