@JerryFoltzGolf me, according to the golf pro standing behind me on the range*
(*later, seeing myself on video for the first time, i realized he was making fun of me)
"Golf is a dumb game. Hitting the ball is the fun part of it, but the fewer times you hit the ball the more fun you have. Does that make any sense?" — Lou Graham
Not a prediction. But there is a real possibility the true legacy of LIV will wind up, in 10-15 years, being the diminution of pro golf -- a PGA Tour that is smaller, less lucrative (for players anyway), less visible, with zero charitable component.
I'm from South Texas but the hottest I've ever been was on a golf course in Louisiana. On the 5th tee my partner said, "I feel like I'm about to burst into flames."
LIV Golf has released a statement on the postponement of their Louisiana event that was scheduled to take place in June.
“This shift allows us to avoid the peak summer heat and the crowded global sports calendar.”
@AlexMyers3 How much things have changed: In the 1957 Open Championship, golfers stuck behind slow-playing Cary Middlecoff shouted at him throughout the round to speed up, then complained after to the R&A about his slow play. Middlecoff completed that round in 3 hours, 18 minutes.
@SHistorians@Top100Rick Jones on Hagen: "When a man misses his drive, and then misses his second shot, and then wins the hole with a birdie, it gets my goat."
But did Hagen ever beat Jones when they were in the same tourney field?
@WashSpirit@victoryplustv this game (20 minutes into it) does not exist anywhere on victory+ for me and lots of others -- it's not on my roku, not on my desktop. please fix this! thank you
When asked in 1976 if The Players Championship was a major, Jack Nicklaus replied, "I don't consider it one, but I think I'll win it just in case." And he did.
