🏃♂️ I've gamified my own run so I can race my own ghost with the Meta Ray-Ban Display.
I built a web app for the glasses, loaded a previous GPX from Strava, and dropped game mechanics on top.
Pick up coins when you keep pace, sprint zones reward extra points if you push, and a mini leaderboard on the lens shows how you're tracking against your past self in real time.
Best part: it actually works. Seeing your ghost 20 m ahead is a way stronger nudge than any number on a watch. 😅
Naval Ravikant: "You're going to die. It's all going to zero. What's there to stress about?"
"Stress is when your mind has two conflicting desires at once. You want to be liked, but you want to do something selfish. You don't want to go to work, but you want to make money. You have two conflicting desires, and that's stress."
Naval explains the difference between stress and anxiety:
"Anxiety is this pervasive, unidentifiable stress where you're stressed out all the time and you're not even sure why. The reason is you have so many unresolved problems that have piled up in your life, you can no longer identify what the problems are. There's this mountain of garbage in your mind. A little bit is poking out the top like an iceberg; that's anxiety. But underneath, there's a lot of unresolved things."
He shares his personal anxiety resolver:
"One big anxiety resolver for me is just ruminating on death. You're going to die. It's all going to zero. You cannot take anything with you. If you can keep that idea in front of you at all times, what's there to stress about?"
Naval reframes what "wasted time" really means:
"What is wasted time? Everything is wasted time in a sense because nothing matters in the ultimate. But in each moment, it's the only thing that matters. So if you're doing something you want to do and you're fully there for it it's not wasted time. If your mind is running away, wishing you were somewhere else, anticipating the future, regretting the past, that's wasted time. That's time you're not present for."
He concludes:
"People get worried about dying and no longer being here. But they don't realize that so much of their life is spent not being here in any case."
The Boring Company’s Prufrock is one of the most advanced tunnel boring machines ever built
Traditional tunnel boring machines work in slow cycles:
dig → stop → install tunnel liner → move forward → repeat
Prufrock was redesigned to do all these operations simultaneously
As the cutterhead excavates through the ground, the machine installs concrete tunnel segments behind it, allowing it to keep advancing without constant stops
Material is removed using augers and conveyor systems, while the operation is increasingly automated and remotely controlled from The Boring Company’s Operations Center, with the goal of zero people inside the tunnel during normal operations
And this is the real breakthrough:
• dramatically faster tunneling
• lower infrastructure cost
• less manual labor
• scalable underground transportation networks
The Boring Company is trying to industrialize tunneling the same way Henry Ford industrialized manufacturing
And Prufrock is the machine that could make true 3D transportation networks under cities possible by removing the biggest bottlenecks in traditional tunneling
Today we're announcing Figure has signed a commercial agreement with Catalyst Brands to deploy humanoid robots at scale
Catalyst operates iconic brands including JCPenney, Aéropostale and Brooks Brothers. Figure will start initial deployment in Reno, NV
The Tesla Cybercab will have an efficiency of 165 Wh/mi (102 Wh/km).
To put that in perspective, that’s equivalent to a gas car getting 204 MPG.
Elon Musk said he sees a path where Tesla can get Cybercab operating costs as low as $0.20 per mile.
Tesla is quietly building out massive infrastructure for the Robotaxi network across the U.S
In Irving, Texas, Tesla is preparing a 35,000 sq ft Robotaxi dispatch, service, repair, and cleaning facility that includes:
• 16 V4 Superchargers
• 212 vehicle storage spots
At the same time:
• Houston is seeing gold Cybercabs with Robotaxi decals stacking up at the hub
• Las Vegas is building a dedicated 36,000 sq ft Cybercab car wash facility
• Arizona has already permitted the first private Robotaxi-only V4 Supercharger stations in Chandler and Mesa
Most people only see Tesla building autonomous cars
What Tesla is also building is the entire operational infrastructure behind a fully autonomous transportation network
Holy crap, Tesla FSD V14.3.3 is a gamechanger for Actually Smart Summon.
The car now drives 33% quicker (8 mph).
It’s so quick and confident. It’s like your own personal Robotaxi.
