Fewer than 3 out of 10 support Labour plan to merge police forces - 77% fear police will 'lose local knowledge and community connections' as a result.
Sussex Police currently tops UK forces for fastest response times - this survey shows 69% worry that mergers will lead to slower response. What do you think?

Police mergers will be a distraction from the fight against crime
I asked Hertfordshire residents what they think, and only 11% believe mergers would make policing better.
People want more officers on their streets who know their neighbourhoods, not distant mega‑forces covering huge regions.
Bigger isn’t better. Larger forces mean slower responses, weaker local accountability and resources pulled away from neighbourhood policing👮♂️
This is the wrong priority.
Instead of wasting time and money on reorganisation, we should be backing the police, investing properly, and going after criminals relentlessly.
That’s the reform people actually want 🚓
Keir Starmer is about to hand access to some of our most important digital infrastructure to the Chinese.
He refuses to tell us why.
What is Starmer hiding?
🚨🇺🇸🇸🇴 BREAKING: SOMALI MAN INDICTED ON FRAUD & GUN CHARGES SWORN IN TO MAINE CITY COUNCIL
You seriously can’t make this up.
A Somali man facing active criminal charges including fraud, theft, illegal firearm possession, and questions about his legal residency, has just been sworn in as a City Council member in Lewiston, Maine… All while under indictment too.
Even wilder? Democrats are backing the move.
Apparently being criminally charged no longer disqualifies you from running a city as long as you check the right political boxes.
It’s a total mockery of the justice system and local governance, although some insist he’s “innocent until proven guilty,” and that the charges shouldn’t interfere with his public service.
But let’s be real: if the roles were reversed, or if this guy had an “R” next to his name, the outrage would be nuclear.
This is about basic trust in our institutions, not race or immigration.
If a sitting councilmember under indictment for crimes involving fraud and weapons can still be handed political power, what message does that send?

Running the country is not a game — but Labour seems to think it is.
You don’t make people in Whitechapel and the Old Kent Road better off by doing down investors in Mayfair and Park Lane… yet that’s what this Government is doing👇

Britain does NOT owe reparations to anyone. This great nation led the world to end slavery.
Those demanding reparations are playing the Marxist politics of yesterday with no answers for tomorrow.
Truth is, the world owes a huge debt of gratitude to 🇬🇧.
