Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with grateful and humble hearts, lifting up the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces.
Protect those who stand watch so that others may sleep in peace. Surround our soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, and Space Force guardians with Your mighty shield; whether they serve on distant shores, in the skies above, beneath the seas, or here at home. Grant them courage in danger, wisdom in decision, strength in weariness, and discernment in every moment.
Bring healing to their bodies when they are wounded, comfort to their minds when memories haunt them, and peace to their spirits when the battles, seen and unseen, feel too heavy to bear.
Lord, we also lift up their families, the spouses who hold down homes alone, the children who count the days until a hug returns, the parents who wait by the phone, the siblings and loved ones who carry quiet worry in their hearts. Sustain them with Your unfailing love. Replace fear with trust, loneliness with the certainty of Your nearness, and longing with hope.
Guide every service member safely through their duties, and when their mission is complete, bring them home whole, body, mind, and soul. For those who have given the last full measure of devotion, we ask You to cradle them in Your eternal arms and comfort all who grieve their loss.
May the sacrifices of our military and their families never be forgotten. Let their service shine as a testimony to honor, duty, and selfless love.
We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who knows what it means to lay down one’s life for others.
