@colin_dunlap My industry and the ED industry are not the same, one is a public service and mine is not. However, I'm speaking only to the KOL/speaker/CE stuff which is very similar across a lot of industries.

@412Suburbanite @colin_dunlap But that isn't how CE works, assuming this was a CE event (big assumption). But, if it was, In order to earn your CE you need to have a speaker/organization that can provide CE from an accredited institution based on their lecture. That is not given from the place you work for.

@colin_dunlap I work in an industry where we provide CE for our customers/clinicians with a KOL, and renting rooms for the event, providing the speaker with food and transportation is pretty standard practice.I can't speak specifically to the ed industry though. We rent rooms in the casino too

@412Suburbanite @colin_dunlap Yeah, speakers do not do that. Their job is being a speaker or a KOL (key opinion leader) in their industry and they typically do not donate their time considering it's their livelihood.
