Grateful to announce the 2026 Good Dog Gala in Manhattan is SOLD OUT! Focusing on a future of hope, healing, and community, the gala will honor The @Blackstone Charitable Foundation, @JaneGoodallInst, and Jane Goodall, DBE (in memoriam).

The evening of June 3 will kick off with a jazz trio from The @JuilliardSchool during the cocktail hour, which also features a "doggy bar” for canine attendees.

Therapy dogs and their handlers will be present through the night and one-on-one therapy dog “love sessions” will be available to gala guests. Our highly anticipated silent and live auctions will feature a once-in-a-lifetime journey to the site of Jane Goodall’s groundbreaking chimpanzee research in Gombe, Tanzania.

We will also premiere a short film of our dogs’ incredible impact throughout the year.

The Good Dog Foundation is proud to honor the late ethologist Dr. Jane Goodall in memoriam, and the Jane Goodall Institute which continues and expands on her work, at our upcoming gala. @TheDogist will be presenting our 2026 Hope & Healing Award to the Jane Goodall Institute USA.

We were brought together by our common love for dogs and the positive effect they continue to have on humans. We are proud to recognize the incredible impact of Jane's advocacy for the human-animal bond and the protection of all living things. Her well-known love of dogs is a testament to her love of all animals and decades of advocacy work to advance animal welfare, and the Jane Goodall Institute carries her legacy forward.

We are beyond excited to announce an exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime adventure through the jungles of Tanzania, visiting the site of Dr. Jane Goodall's groundbreaking chimpanzee research. This amazing trip for one small group will only be offered through the live auction at our annual gala on June 3rd.

"The key experience of your visit will be the rare opportunity to walk in Jane's footsteps in the forests at Gombe, to revel in its beauty and its wild primates. You will trek deep into its valleys and over its hillsides, you will see wild chimpanzees and judge for yourself how much like humans they are. At other times you can watch their forest companions, the mischievous baboons, the endangered red colobus, and the beautiful redtail and blue monkeys (and their hybrids !). And, at the end of the day, you will marvel at Jane Goodall's achievements."

Our program starts after pre-screen acceptance with Therapy Skills, a four once-a-week 90-minute classes taken in-person with others seeking certification. The fee is $280.

After graduation, each grad will have their trial Shadow Visit with the goal of passing so they can start volunteering and become Good Dog certified!
