Catholics are called to reject antisemitism and the lies and conspiracies that fuel it, and to stand clearly against hatred and violence directed toward our Jewish brothers and sisters. To defend religious freedom with integrity, we must also reject antisemitism.

Callaghan Chronicles: Anna May and Bill Callaghan with their four children: Jack, Joan, Helen, and Billy in 1939. My mother, Helen, is seated (left) next to my grandmother, Anna May.
Three cousins from my mother’s side of the family and I have been working on collecting memories of our extended family. With “Callaghan Chronicles,” we hope to reconnect for the first time since our grandparents, Anna May and Bill Callaghan, passed away more than 60 years ago.
Faith does not impose itself by means of power and in extraordinary ways. Indeed, it is enough to have faith the size of a mustard seed in order to do unimaginable things (cf. Lk 17:6), because it carries within it the strength of God’s love that opens the way to salvation. #GospelOfTheDay
Remembering Jack Conway on this Fathers’ Day. “Faith and love” defined him every day. In good times, and in hard times, he was faithful and loving to the end. I miss you, Dad.
Remembering my second mother, Rita Catherine Hudec, on her birthday. Her large, loving family misses her very much, but her love remains with us as strongly as ever. Happy Birthday, Rita.
We are truly the Church of the Risen Lord and disciples of Pentecost if there are no borders or divisions among us; if we are able to dialogue and accept one another and to reconcile our diversities; and if, as Church, we become a welcoming and hospitable place for all (Leo XIV).
On #WorldCommunicationsDay, I would like to repeat Pope Francis’ invitation to tell stories of hope and disarm communication of all prejudice, resentment, and fanaticism. Let us share a different outlook on the world through communication that is disarmed and disarming. #HopeTelling https://t.co/MmGT2ZZFQ4
I am honored that my colleagues on the ICSC Board of Directors have elected me to a three-year term as Board Chair. ICSC is totally dedicated to helping Catholic organizations teach stewardship a a way of life and develop the resources needed to carry out their missions.
Remembering 1st Lt. Jack Conway and all who served our country in the Armed Forces. They fought for our freedom with their courage, integrity, and commitment to liberty and justice for all.
God’s love can truly dwell in us and become our possession only in the measure that we give it away. If we resist it or try to cling to it, it will never work its way into our own hearts, bodies, and minds. But if we give it away as an act of love, then we get more of it (Barron)
On this day in 1948, Helen Bernet Callaghan and John Lawrence Conway were married. 50 years later, they celebrated their final wedding anniversary together—thanking God for their love and family!
The Holy See is willing to help enemies meet, so they may look each other in the eye and so people may be given back the dignity they deserve: the dignity of peace. With heart in hand, I say to the leaders of nations: let us meet; let us dialogue; let us negotiate!
