A lot of the usual anti-car folks are annoyed by this, but this is good. Sorry but the government needs to be able to prove you are guilty of the offense it alleges!
A D.C.-based attorney spent three years fighting a $100 ticket he got from a speed camera in the city. He eventually won in D.C.'s highest court on a novel legal technicality, and thousands of other drivers could end up benefitting from it: https://t.co/r9GMBu1Ba6
NEW: The Trump-aligned org Citizens for Sanity is dropping a six-figure ad buy in the Texas Senate race.
The ad is a 15 second clip of AI-generated James Talarico singing a "trans kids" rendition of “Favorite Things."

Look I get that it’s really tricky but I think at some point we are going to have to draw a legal line on what sort of lies/half-truths we are willing to accept from government officials acting in their official capacity.
While it’s all been rather fun, I do hope @hughlaurie takes the time to read my @unherd article (I’m sure he can stretch to a subscription).
Because while his witty riposte was genuinely amusing, one point I make in the piece is that it was shared with his 1.2 million followers on X. I have around 38,000.
That creates something of an imbalance - particularly given that the responses to my original post were overwhelmingly warm-hearted and affectionate towards the show.
The result has been some fairly horrific trolling. It turns out House fans are even more abusive than trans activists (and that’s saying something).
I have enough experience of the media to take it on the chin, as the saying goes. But someone without my background might have found the experience far more distressing.

If this is what you enjoy or how you want to live, that’s fine! But please do not pretend that it is actually more efficient to make 7 30-minute trips than a single one hour trip.
I’m sorry but these people pretending that having to go to the grocery store every single day of your life isn’t inefficient or a massive waste of time are legitimately insane. Having to go to the store everyday after work would drive me to suicide in short order.
it’s called “life.” You walk to the store. Maybe you see someone you know on the way. You find a dollar on the ground. The sun shines on your face. You are participating in the world.
Actually the kind of Republicans people should be are no longer allowed in the party. Romney, Cheney, etc. Susan Collins’ continuation as a Republican in the era of Trump disqualifies her from that pool.
Susan Collins is exactly the kind of Republican that Democrats say we should all be. She's pro-choice, voted for Sotomayor, Kagan & Jackson. She helped Obama on his big bills & Biden on infrastructure. Yet Democrats are going all-in on a train wreck to beat her. My take for CNN:
Ossoff: While you pay more for everything, Trump wants your tax dollars for what many are calling the Jeffrey Epstein Memorial Ballroom. He forced out that Republican, the one who made him release the Epstein files. That is true commitment to the cover-up.
The biggest downside to not having a true party figurehead is this stuff. I know he doesn’t want to but Barack Obama needs to get McMorrow and Stevens in a room to yell at them until one drops out
