How far upstream will they focus? The only way to stop inequality is to eliminate its fundamental causes - capital's biased distribution of power, status, income & wealth

Lobbying by US Eli Lilly of Starmer’s changed Labour Party
The US pharma company Eli Lilly obviously gets very fat on raking in profits, not least for the £279 million contract given by Labour to trial their weight loss drug to reduce ‘worklessness’, you read that correctly, this drug will be trialled in Manchester, which just happens to be designated as a deregulated Special Economic Zone (SEZ), signed off with Sunak by Andy Burnham, wow, those Metro Mayor super powers are girding up…change eh?
That Labour chose to partner with US Eli Lilly whose track record in controversial law suits is jaw dropping because it reads like a Malthusian recipe for culling the poor and vulnerable, this should send alarm bells ringing across the UK, because corporations this malignant are being invited by Labour into 86 free zones where rampant deregulation gives carte-blanche for them to make their own rules inside these zones of exception to the host country.
It shows just how cruelly concocted Labour’s right-wing policies are immediately attacking those who depend on benefits, not forgetting that trained doctors diagnosed these patients.
How very fucking Tory of them.

Corporate courts are a major impediment to climate action, with the UK’s deals being the most dangerous. The new government must commit to ending this toxic system.

As citizens of Beirut brace for a full on Israeli offensive, and a week after the ICJ called Israel an apartheid state, you announce enhanced trade talks with that state is a priority? Your own civil servants are telling you they don’t want to do this. What is wrong with you?
Here is what I said about lifting 1.6m children out of poverty.
It is 100% affordable.
Minister didn't respond.
Would govt find the money if a bank collapsed tomorrow?
Poverty is a political choice.
Today's damning ruling confirms Israel’s occupation of Palestinian Territories is illegal and amounts to apartheid.
It says all states are obligated to recognise the military occupation as illegal and to not give aid or support toward maintaining it.

I already regret voting for @Labour.
Nye Bevan will be turning in his grave with the appointment of Alan Milburn. In my opinion, a worse health secretary than Andrew Lansley, because he drove marketisation & privatisation under New Labour.
Time to start my campaigning again!
🚨 Breaking: Former health secretary Alan Milburn looks set to return to government to help @wesstreeting in his mission to reform the NHS. I understand Milburn won't be chair of NHS England or made a minister. 🤔 A big appointment nonetheless.
This is terrible.
Alan Milburn has a longstanding obsession with privatising the NHS and a personal financial stake in it happening via his consultancy and lobbying firm AM Strategy, which advises private healthcare clients.
This Labour govt is fundamentally corrupt already.
A 30% shortfall in clinical radiologists.
A 15% shortfall in clinical oncologists.
The cancer treatment target unmet since 2015.
Deadly, unforgivable, ubiquitous delays.
The @Conservatives disgusting record on NHS cancer care.

Genuinely sad to be leaving NHS Devon but in a nutshell, not happy as chair to sign off on the financials so time for me to go. No point promising the unachievable, especially if only achievable with unacceptable consequences
